The Controller Systems Engineer will be responsible for the requirements, design, development, and integration of elevator control systems. The Controller Systems Engineer will be responsible for managing design requirements, component selections, design architectures, and design implementation. The Controller Systems Engineer will have new product development and sustaining responsibilities for these exciting products.
Manage technical requirements, architecture definition and engineering development activities for elevator control system programs
Drive digital innovation and serve as a cross-functional change agent across the organization
Work with marketing and product management to develop product roadmaps and business cases for these products, fine-tuning approaches as needed to ensure investment in the right products, tools and resources
Support the controller module lead with strategic plans, roadmaps and program oversight
The successful candidate will possess a technical acumen that will allow you to have in depth discussions with technical experts/customers, see common trends among the various sometimes conflicting requirements and develop roadmaps and product requirements that will best position Otis to meet their future needs. You will establish and maintain cross-functional alignment to ensure a consistent and rational approach to delivering results through prioritization and execution of our elevator controller portfolio.
Minimum of 15 years in increasingly important roles technical, hands-on systems design and integration
Create high level system and sub-system design and architecture working with discipline-specific engineers to design/develop major components
Work with global, multi-functional teams to move strategy to execution through leadership and collaboration
Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and practices including needs analysis, functional allocation, architecture development and evaluation, trade analysis and risk assessment as applied to complex electro-mechanical and/or electro-software systems.
Hands-on lab experience with electrical architectures, embedded software designs and test equipment to support test, integration, and troubleshooting.
Proven track record of developing product strategies that anticipate future customer needs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience presenting to internal and external executive leadership
Exceptional interpersonal skills working with a broad range of stakeholders across various areas
Ability to drive results regardless of ambiguity or imperfect information, translate complex strategies into clear tactics
