The Corporate Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within this large Manufacturing company. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in manufacturing finance, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the effective management of company resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to provide insights into business performance and support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, including the development of financial models and forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and recommendations for corrective actions.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
Cost Accounting:
- Oversee cost accounting functions, including product costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
- Implement and maintain cost control measures to enhance profitability and efficiency.
- Report on Percentage of Completion metric
Strategic Financial Planning:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute the company's financial strategy.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives with financial analysis and due diligence.
Systems and Process Improvement:
- Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Implement best practices and leverage technology to streamline financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and financial regulations.
- Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
