Robert Half is partnering with an expanding manufacturing firm in the Cerritos Area and is seeking a Controller to join their team. This person will be responsible for the Accounting and Operations of the organization.

This is a high visibility senior management position reporting to the CEO. RESPONSIBLE FOR: Managing all aspects of manufacturing, including; staffing, training, shipping and receiving, warehousing, inventory control, purchasing, production planning, manufacturing engineering and process engineering.

This position will be responsible to ensure that all customer requirements for quality, production, delivery and costs are met. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Prepare monthly reports of results, monthly forecasts, annual operating plan, and strategic planning.

Responsible for internal controls at the plant for operations, sales and finance. Analyze and accurately report current months financial results to the plant, sales, and corporate management in accordance with corporate format and time requirements. Submit all financial transactions, transmissions, and reporting on a timely and accurate basis.

Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments. Perform audits of bills of materials to ensure product costs are accurate and accounted for properly.

Report audit results monthly. Ensure timely and accurate input of bill of material and price code changes. Ensure bill of material and costing accurately reflect production operations.

Maintain a perpetual inventory for finished goods and reconcile this perpetual to production, shipping, and returns on a daily basis. Attend daily plant production meetings. Perform daily walkthroughs of the plant with the General Manager to discuss production and costing issues.

Review labor reporting and cost, material costs, manufacturing overhead, distribution cost, returns and inventory levels. Conduct formal meetings with manufacturing, finance and sales management personnel to discuss all plant issues. Develop and publish a formal agenda and recap with actions to be taken. Document and understand ERP/MRP systems, hardware, and reporting conventions and serve as the on-site IT expert. . 10+ years experience in manufacturing. ? Experience in management ? ABOUT THIS POSITION PURPOSE OF POSITION: Investigates, evaluates and appraises damaged automobiles, and may be called upon to settle this portion of the claim within an authorized dollar limit. __________________________________________________________________________________________ SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES: * 1. Participates in a program of formal and on-the-job training through classroom instruction, observing repair work and keeping abreast of new repair techniques and procedures. Successful completion of all company training and certification testing is required to remain in the position. * 2. Examines first and third party vehicle damage in the field, at drive in locations, or at service centers as assigned. Follows the company photograph guidelines to verify the identity of the vehicle and to thoroughly document current condition/damage, prior damage, vehicle options, etc. and prepares accurate written appraisal to determine and verify the extent of vehicular damage. A copy of the appraisal will be provided to the owner and uploaded on the day of the appraisal. All supplements will be completed per company guidelines. * 3. Ensures adherence to claims procedures and guidelines prescribed by the company to produce a high quality work product. * 4. Negotiates repair prices with repair facilities and secures agreed prices for repairs. Maintains a list of company approved part suppliers and uses these firms whenever possible/applicable to control the cost of repairs and to ensure quality work. May visit repair shops to evaluate physical plant, quality of work and may provide a list of garage or repair facilities to insured if allowed by state law. * 5. Negotiates settlements in a timely manner as assigned. Ensures equitable and fair payment of physical damage losses within authority granted. Obtains all necessary documentation to substantiate the appraisal and/or settlement being offered. * 6. Returns completed appraisal to the handling office no later than 24 hours after inspection. * 7. Returns all phone calls within 24 hours and responds to written correspondence within 24 hours. * 8. Ensures that Fair Claim Practices Acts and state laws and/or regulations are strictly followed. * 9. Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle. Must maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record if a company vehicle is being provided, if being assigned to CAT duty which requires driving to inspect CAT loss vehicles or if instructed to drive to handle company business when needed. * 10. Demonstrates the learning capability, development and ability to write accurate appraisals. * 11. May be assigned to take photos of accident scenes, take statements, prepare scene diagrams, CAT duty and other duties to assist with the handling of company claim matters. * 12. Ensures that vehicles are moved to an approved storage facility or salvage pool. Negotiates with storage facilities to control costs. Ensures that total losses are moved quickly and proper paperwork is secured to allow the company to sell salvaged vehicles in a timely manner. * 13. Must apply for and possess applicable licenses required by the state to which the individual is assigned. (If such licenses are not obtained, employee is not eligible to remain in position). * 14. Properly secures all drafts within possession. All payments are to be made within company guidelines. * 15. Reports any questionable payments, including suspected fraud, supplements or appraisals found directly to management as appropriate. 16. Performs all other duties as assigned. * 17. Must have regular predictable attendance. __________________________________________________________________________________________ SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Candidates must have a minimum of one (1) year full time work experience. 2. One (1) year of prior experience in auto repair or appraising is preferred. 3. Must have good computer skills. 4. Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record if a company vehicle is being provided. 5. Must have good planning and organizing skills. 6. Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Some positions may require specific bilingual skills. 7. Must have the ability to effectively deal with conflict. 8.
