Robert Half Finance is searching for an energetic Controller to join a reputable services company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. Based in the Lebanon, Ohio area, this opening for a Controller is a full-time position. Major responsibilities

  • Handle monthly and yearly close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations G/L analysis

  • Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team

  • Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  • Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month

  • Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll

  • Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

  • Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

  • Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Month end closings experience

  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
