Controller - Professional Services

HireMinds is assisting a well-respected Professional Services firm in the greater Boston area with their confidential efforts to hire an experienced Controller. Reporting to and working closely with Senior Management, the Controller will be responsible for leading a team in the accurate and timely reporting of monthly financial and accounting information.

In addition to managing a team, the Controller will be a hands-on accounting professional responsible for:

• Coordinating month and year-end closings

• Preparing financial and management level reporting

• Enhancing and maintaining internal controls and processes

• Overseeing project accounting including percentage completion and work in process

• Providing financial data and analysis to help direct strategic corporate decisions

• Ensuring accurate General Ledger maintenance including review of AP, AR and Payroll

• Developing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts

• Conducting ad-hoc analysis and developing financial models for senior leadership

• Supporting internal departments with strategic analysis for financial decisions

Qualified candidates for this position will have a CPA, degree in Accounting, with 10-15 years of combined public accounting and private industry experience working in the Professional Services or related industries. Power users of Excel with strong system abilities are preferred. Candidates with or progress towards advanced education, are encouraged to apply for this role.
