As a member of this team, you know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and you'll review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports -- and all this sounds like fun to you. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on one of the most dynamic product areas at Google: Emerging segment of products within Platforms and Ecosystems. In this role, you will lead the Controllership team that works on Fi, Photos, Comms, Wireless and other products through which many of our users experience Google and Android. Your team is dedicated to manage financial risks of the Emerging products portfolio in Platforms & Ecosystems - across accounting, compliance, product launches, finance operations and revenue systems. We partner closely with the business to drive finance alignment and support for this dynamic and growing businesses.

And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 4+ years of work experience in public accounting or in a high-tech organization.
  • CPA/CA or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with high-growth technology products or organization with broad financial expertise.

  • Strong communication, teamwork and leadership skills.

  • Record journal entries and performance of account reconciliations; manage ad-hoc accounting projects as needed to support the proper accounting of revenue, cost of sales and opex as in accordance with US GAAP.

  • Prepare and present financials for our product area related to month-end close as well any ad hoc requests from business and product teams.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support global expansion and operations.

  • Identify opportunities and implement programs to centralize, eliminate, automate or outsource activities. Work with outsourced providers to outsource established or mature processes and manage ongoing activities.

  • Design, implement and manage global processes for the accounting of Comms, Wireless and Photos businesses through the performance of revenue, cost of sale and opex accounting analyses during monthly close.
