Perkins Eastman is currently seeking a talented and experienced individual to be a Controller in our New York office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting function of the Firm. The Controller is expected to be a global leader that works collaboratively with a very diverse employee base.
Perkins Eastman provides clients full design services from strategy, to programming and planning, to high-performance buildings with design excellence across a variety of practice areas in the local and regional market. This position will be a key individual in the office, working with the current leadership and partnering with all departments within the firm to help continue to grow our presence and capabilities in the Industry.
What You Will Do:
Lead monthly and year end accounting cycle
Manage A/P, P/R, A/R, G/L, FA, Billing, Credit & Collections, and Tax functions
Manage accounting and tax for international locations
Provide accounting guidance to organization
Review and maintain the internal control environment
Audit locations, processes, and systems, as required
Establish and maintain project accounting / job charging policies, procedures, and controls
Manage the completion of monthly account reconciliations
Manage financial and management reporting
Manage financial systems
Perform ad hoc analyses, as requested
BS in Accounting/Finance/ Business; CPA certification preferred; MBA a plus
A valid CPA CMA or other related accounting designation (Preferred)
Minimum 15 years of financial management experience in a professional services company, architecture or engineering firm is a plus with 10 years in a supervisory role
Strong background in project accounting/job costing
Experience using Deltek Vision a plus
Excellent communication skills and ability to present clearly and concisely to senior leadership.
Maintains strict confidentiality standards.
Independent self-starter with strong time management skills.
Proficiency with MS Office.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
