The Controller directs accounting and financial activities for North Florida College. The Controller is responsible for leading the Business Department staff to meet the objectives of the College's Strategic Plan. Below are listed the primary tasks identified for this position. The duties articulated though not exhaustive, indicate the majority of the functions assigned to this position. Other duties may be assigned based on institutional need.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees the implementation and improvement of SCT/Banner software within the accounting and finance area.
Responsible for all Controller's Office functions including computerized accounting, cash management, processing of purchase orders, inventory records, accounts payable and receivables, and payroll administration and taxes.
Responsible for all banking transactions including investment and tracking of College funds and gains on investments.
Reconcile all bank accounts.
Assist in the development and control of institutional budgets.
Monitors all federal funds, ensuring compliance with all pertinent regulations, fiscal practices, and reporting requirements
Submits financial reports as needed on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Some examples include monthly and quarterly reports required for federal funding, budget documents, Annual Financial Reports, Cost Analysis, and IPEDS reports.
Manages relationships with external auditors.
Work as a team member with Administrative Services employees in all related duties and procedures.

Bachelor's degree required. A bachelor's degree or higher in accounting is strongly preferred. Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, financial administration, analysis, strategy, financial planning & budgeting is required. Experience in an institution of higher education or a nonprofit organization is preferred. Knowledge of tax and governmental requirements and issues is strongly preferred.
