The Controller leads the accounting and controlling functions for the Danville, KY Manufacturing Facility & Distribution Center for Meggitt Braking Systems. This position will have a focus on three areas: plant controlling and accounting, capital project controlling, and product line controlling.
The Controller partners with senior management to ensure business process, accountability, and cost controls are maintained throughout the site and across the areas of focus. This role encompasses month-end duties, business financial analysis and reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal control processes. The Business Controller will report to VP Finance - Meggitt Braking Systems with strong functional relationships to Controlling & Accounting teams based in Akron, OH and Coventry UK.

Meggitt Braking Systems is part of the Meggitt Airframe Systems division, a business with revenues of over $1B with facilities across Europe, North America and Asia. This creates a great opportunity for a capable and ambitious Business Controller to join our team as an exciting entry point to a range of future opportunities in Meggitt.
Meggitt Braking Systems is investing over $80M on the construction of an expanded carbon manufacturing facility in Danville, adding to our existing operations which are at the core of our global business. The site provides a base for our 300+ employees. Meggitt wants to hire a business controller to help take this business forward.
Job Core Responsibilities
Partners with senior management in developing and executing the financial business partnering model
Develops business processes and maintain and strengthen internal controls
Interprets and actions financial transactions based on company policy and procedures
Executes and manages the financial reporting, budgets, and internal processes
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
Lead in the site month-end process, including journal entries, monthly financial upload, intercompany posting, and financials statement creation in accordance with the company financial policy manual following International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Provides financial analyses and control for various controlling disciplines such as production and labor variances, inventory controls and cost analysis
Internal and external audit support
Capital expense control: fixed asset auditing, tagging, and reporting
Capital Project Controlling:
Provides financial forecasting, reporting and analyses for $80M carbon infrastructure investment started in Q4 2019 (running through early 2021) as well as support of future global carbon investments
Partners with Program Mgmt to ensure project financials are under control and risks are mitigated
Finance lead for monthly Carbon Steering Committee
Carbon Business Controlling:
Provides financial analyses for product line profitability, manufacturing variances, and carbon product costing from manufacturing sites in Danville KY, Akron OH, and Coventry UK
Develops and prepares reports to forecast, analyze business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and future operations
Works in conjunction with FP&A and Accounting teams in Akron OH to identify and maximize product and program profitability
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, advanced degree preferred
7+ year's relevant experience, with large company manufacturing experience preferred
Domestic and some international travel will be required, 10-15%, primarily to Akron, OH and Coventry, UK
