McKonly & Asbury, founded in 1973, is one of Pennsylvania's most respected accounting and consulting firms. We are assisting one of our clients in the media industry.
Our client is a nonprofit with a long record of accomplishment in Pennsylvania. Our client is in search of an experienced Controller to work at their headquarters in the Camp Hill, PA area.
Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Controller is responsible for monthly financial statements and reporting and the management of two accounting staff, for an organization with approximately 40 full time and 100 part time staff. This hands-on position also drives the budget and business planning process and provides review of all vendor contracts for the organization. The Controller interfaces with external auditors, attorneys, bank representatives, insurance providers, and benefit representatives regularly.
One of most important qualifications technically for the successful candidate will be demonstrated experience working within the nonprofit world. Our client requires a minimum of a four-year degree in accounting or finance, with a minimum of ten years' experience in the accounting field.
A CPA license is not required, but would be advantageous. High-level competence in mid-tier accounting packages, desktop productivity software, and data analysis applications will be needed.
The client's work environment is one where hard work and honest feedback amongst team members is the norm. A minimum of five years of supervisory experience required.
While interaction takes places with co-workers, it is expected that this level of position will direct their own work efforts without the need for significant oversight. While some intermittent travel to conferences and continuing education may be required, the large majority of the workweek will be spent at the headquarters location. Hybrid remote/in office work would be possible for the successful candidate in this role. This role is an advisor to senior management providing insight on the financial health of the organization and continuous business improvement.
Our client provides a competitive compensation package commensurate with the criticality of this role, which includes health, dental, RX, and disability benefits, generous paid time off, and a retirement plan. If you are interested in building a career with great people, in a great place to live and work, please send resume to email@example.com! Qualified candidates will be provided with a more detailed job description and relevant company information.
