Controller Maintenance

Position Summary

The Maintenance Control team provides surveillance, control, and direction for all aircraft maintenance concerns.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Uses real time aircraft monitoring applications to provide proactive resolution of in service discrepancies.

  • Central point of contact for front line Crewmembers, Business Partners and all other aircraft maintenance related matters

  • Authority and responsibility for the supervision and coordination of all unscheduled maintenance functions that are accomplished using JetBlue Airways procedures

  • Focal point within the SOC for all aircraft maintenance related items and provides bi directional communications to business unit members as required by the general maintenance manual and internal operating procedures.

  • Provides real time recovery support for aircraft that are out of service, liaises with front Line Maintenance, AOG, Engineering, Dispatch, Sys Ops and Flight to establish a recovery plan of action.

  • Maintain constant surveillance of overall line station activity. Supports both JetBlue Line maintenance and Contract Maintenance Business Partners in all matters regarding aircraft maintenance. Overall authority over the application of the JetBlue Airways deferred maintenance process as outline in the general Maintenance manual

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma

  • Six (6) years of aircraft maintenance experience

  • Five (5) years of experience in heavy transport aircraft

  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate

  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge

  • Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance

  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Maintenance Management

  • 2 years Maintenance Control Experience (Heavy Transport)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and in the use of digital manuals

  • Ability to stay focused and work under pressure

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong work ethic

  • Previous leadership experience

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

VIEW JOBS 1/14/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-13T00:00 Position Summary: The Division of School Facilities (DSF) is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and energy use through developing and implementing a customized and effective Operations and Maintenance Plan for every school building. Currently, DOE's Energy Team consists of staff sitting within the Division of School Facilities' Office of Maintenance and Optimization and the Office of Sustainability. The DOE Energy Team oversees energy management and emissions reductions activities across DOE's portfolio, which includes more than 1,400 buildings, accounting for 131M square feet, and represents approximately 40 percent of total City-owned building square footage. DOE also is the largest energy-consuming City agency, accounting for nearly 22 percent of the City government's energy consumption. The Administrative Supervisor of Commissioning and Building Maintenance plays a crucial role in providing building rehabilitation, repair and maintenance services to City-owned buildings by coordination and management of commissioning activities. This position will advance the critical initiative of reducing emissions and energy consumption across the City by helping to manage commissioning activities for energy projects. Performs related work. Reports to: Senior Energy Project Manager Direct Reports: N/A Key Relationships: Relationships will be fostered with the Division of School Facilities (DSF) staff and managers, School Construction Authority, Department of Citywide Administrative Services, and other interested parties regarding energy reduction and building maintenance and optimization. Responsibilities * Oversees proper commissioning of existing and future energy projects, to ensure that projected annual energy usage and emissions reductions will be sustained over the projects' lifespans. * Manages the close-out and hand-off process between the School Construction Authority and the Department of Education to ensure that equipment is operating as designed and energy consumption is in alignment with energy modeling projections for the building. Ensures that HVAC and BMS systems are commissioned and function as designed prior to sign-off. * Establishes commissioning checklists and documentation to formalize the commissioning process for specific equipment and systems commonly implemented across facilities. Documents functional testing and observational inspections. Works with the DOE Energy Team and facility operations staff to facilitate broader commissioning efforts. Uses existing equipment and system monitoring databases to identify trends in equipment data and identify issues, anomalies, and re-tuning opportunities. * Ensures that staff receive required training in operating upgraded or new equipment and systems so they can successfully run the facilities. * Reviews consultants' commissioning proposals and reports to ensure that they are adequately meeting DOE's need; verifies the results against actual operating conditions. Provides continuity during the commissioning process by following up with contractors, manufacturers, and facility operations staff to ensure that recommendations and issues are addressed. * Makes recommendations about specific makes and models of equipment based on their track record of performance; supports continual commissioning efforts through available equipment monitoring platforms to keep operations optimized over equipment lifespan. * Prepares technical calculations and energy modeling to estimate potential energy savings from projects; identifies energy conservation measures that can be scaled, and conducts analyses to validate actual savings. * Through measurement, observation and energy modeling, verifies that energy projects are achieving their estimated savings and continue to do so throughout their expected life span. * Supports project maintenance and verification, conducting energy modeling and employing data loggers to assess project savings and impact. Conducts follow-up assessments to ensure continued savings, as needed. * Supports the creation of equipment-specific maintenance plans for newly installed equipment, especially if the equipment needs a different maintenance approach because of its technology, vendor-specific requirements, and/or impact on operations. Qualification Requirements: Minimum * Eight years of full-time experience in construction, repair, alteration and/or rehabilitation of multiple dwellings, commercial, industrial or public buildings in the capacity of general contractor, superintendent of construction, procurement specialist, evaluator responsible for cost estimation, or as a field supervisor or as an inspector, at least 18 months of which must have been in a supervisory or administrative capacity involving responsibility for a large number of buildings; or * Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" Education in an accredited college leading toward a baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, engineering technology or a closely related field will be accepted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years. However, all candidates must possess at least 18 months of the specialized supervisory or administrative experience described in "1" above. Preferred * Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical design drawings. * Extensive experience in commissioning mechanical and electrical equipment. * Familiarity with technical project management operations, including project planning, scope development, design and construction management, and project close-out. * Familiarity with NYC mechanical and energy codes. * Familiarity with ASHRAE guidelines for high-performance buildings. * Building Operator Certification-Level 1 certification. * Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP) credential. * Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) credential and/or experience creating and conducting Measurement and Verification Plans per the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP). * Good spoken and written communication skills. * Internal applicants preferred.
