Controller

Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with an established and rapidly growing pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Rochester, NY to recruit a dynamic, hands-on Controller.

Position Summary

The Controller reports directly to the Director of Finance and is a key member and business partner to the finance and management team to establishing, implementing improvements within the finance team ensuring accurate financial results to help scale the company.

The Controller oversees and manages the month-end closing process and supports schedules and work papers for financial reviews and audits, along with treasury, maintaining banking relationships and management to meet intercompany goals. The Controller serves as the point of contact and financial liaison with external auditors and working closely with the legal team.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing, recommending, and implementing necessary improvements in the finance department.
• Generating timely and accurate financial reports to assess the Company’s financial position.
• Reviewing financial concerns directly impacting the business operations and reported financial results.
• Leading and coordinating the month-end closing process; preparation of supporting schedules and workpapers for financial reviews and audits.
• Regularly reviewing entries to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Assisting with treasury functions within the Company, including banking relationship and management to meet financial obligations and the liquidity levels of the Company.
• Serving as the primary liaison for external auditors during audits.
• Working closely with the legal team, recommending appropriate business structures and/or aiding in M&A financial activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA and CPA are highly desired.
• A minimum of 6 or more years of relevant experience, current or prior manufacturing experience is required.
• Highly proficient with MS Office, Accounting software, and ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate financial information effectively within the Company.
• Self-starting, strong attention to detail, collaborative, results-oriented, and confidentiality.
