Description

The Controller is responsible for performing all tasks associated with managing the accounting functions of the college, providing monthly financial reports, and preparing and facilitating the annual external audit. Additionally responsible for other finance related matters, including insurance, accounts payable, banking transactions, tracking investments, and several budget areas.

As a manager, provide supervision for the daily tasks of business office personnel, build a collegial, motivated team environment embracing subsidiarity. Also responsible for completing annual performance evaluations of Business Office staff.

Maintain and update all general ledger activity on a weekly basis. Prepare all accounting information for monthly financial statements including the trial balance, general ledger, statement of activities, balance sheet and other reports. Assist with preparing cash flow reports and managing cash flow as needed.

On a monthly basis, monitor general institutional expenses and report any abnormalities or concerns. Update all online department budgets weekly. Maintain, update, and monitor subsidiary ledgers for restricted funds.

Manage short-term investments. Review and approve accounts payable vouchers as part of internal control procedure. Ensure all policies, procedures, and finance standards are being met.

Prepare confirmations, workpapers and supervise audit activities of Business Office personnel for annual audit of financial statements. Perform all accounting functions for Federal Perkins Loan program. Prepare information from Federal Perkins Loan and Campus Based Title IV Federal Funds programs for FISAP.

Assist Director of Student Financial Services regarding student accounts receivable matters. Evaluate day-to-day and long-term financial performance of the College. Perform duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.

Compensation: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00

Requirements: Strong management and leadership skills.

Strong knowledge of accounting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good technology skills.

Able to develop proficiency with various software programs. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs. Microsoft Great Plans experience preferred.

Basic knowledge of investments, economics, and finance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Able to pay close attention to detail.

Able to work with minimal supervision. Bachelor's degree in accounting is required. MBA or CPA preferred. 5 years of experience in an accounting related position.
