WHO YOU ARE

As Controller, you will report directly to the CFO and spearhead financial strategies that fuel our mission to transform non-emergent 911 responses through innovative telehealth solutions. Your experience as a private equity or venture-backed Controller with expertise in financial management and revenue cycle optimization in a physician practice/MSO/IPA environment will be instrumental in driving our growth as we partner with EMS providers nationwide to reduce unnecessary ER visits and improve patient outcomes. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, with a particular focus on revenue cycle management, accounting, financial reporting, and compliance.

DAY IN THE LIFE

Financial Management and Reporting

  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for corporate, MSO and physician practice
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports and analyses for leadership and investors
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models to support strategic decision-making and growth initiatives
  • Collaborate on financial and legal structure matters, including management of CPOM, PLLC, and MSO entities
  • Support treasury functions, including cash management and bank account oversight
  • Develop, maintain, and modify accounting policies and procedures

Revenue Cycle Management

  • Lead the optimization of revenue cycle processes, including billing, collections, and accounts receivable management
  • Work closely with the revenue cycle team to ensure proper recording of revenue, including insurance reimbursements and patient payments
  • Implement strategies to improve collections, reduce claim denials, and enhance overall financial performance

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with financial and healthcare-specific regulations
  • Lead internal and external audits, working with auditors to ensure timely completion and addressing any findings
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting

Operational Efficiency

  • Identify and implement cost control measures and efficiency improvements across the organization
  • Collaborate with operational teams to align financial goals with operational performance
  • Collaborate with CFO on timing and optimization of financial systems and technologies to support growth and scalability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or greater in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial management with at least two years in a senior role
  • Experience working with private equity or venture-backed companies
  • Experience working in physician practice and MSO environments
  • Background in implementing and improving financial controls and processes
  • Proven track record in managing complex revenue cycle operations in healthcare settings
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite and experience with accounting software

Operational Agility: Demonstrates the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs, willingly engaging in hands-on work when necessary. Shows a proactive approach to overcoming challenges, flexibly shifting between strategic oversight and tactical execution.
