Controller Role We are actively seeking candidates for a Controller position at our corporate office and factory located in Boston. The Controller holds a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, including month-end reporting, budgeting, preparing for government compliance, and oversight of related real estate entities. Reporting directly to the owner, this is a great opportunity to broaden your skills in operations, interaction with leadership, and corporate accounting and finance.

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field 7 years of progressive experience in accounting/financial management; roles within a manufacturing company a plus Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present, influence, and collaborate effectively at the leadership level. Must be solutions-oriented, possess excellent time management skills, and have the ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task as necessary. Responsibilities Responsible for the month-end close, financial statements, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, cash flow analyses, budget vs. actual, and forecast vs. actual analyses.

Sets up financial infrastructure and works with auditors/accountants to ensure the appropriate internal controls are in place. Assists with annual audit and tax preparation by outside accounting/audit firms. Coordinates the timely completion of all month-end workpapers and financial reporting with staff.

Prepare and record month end journal entries Monitor bank and cash flow activity Oversee expense allocation to ensure cost allocation is accurate in accounting system. Provide oversight in preparation and submittals for government audits, governmental survey requests, and maintaining government renewals for industry specific programs (ie. HUBZone, ITAR, etc) Oversees activity of rental properties, including collection of rent and allocation of CAM charges.

Provide oversight and leadership to the accounting department, identify areas for improvement in efficiency and effectiveness Oversees staff within Finance department (i.e. Senior Staff Accountants, AP/AR Clerks, etc.).
