The Financial Control (FINCON) team is responsible for all accounting and tax activities of several North American business entities within multiple industries including ocean carrier agency, trucking, intermodal/rail, and real estate. We maintain and develop accounting principles, practices, and procedures in alignment with headquarters to ensure accurate and timely financial statements to external stakeholders and internal reporting to corporate management, as well as to stay in compliance with regulations. Main responsibilities include general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and budget and forecast development.

Job Responsibilities:

• Co-manage with another Controller job performance of the GL Accountants and Treasury Analyst, Financial Assistant (AP) and assist with their professional development.

• Oversee the preparation and ensure completion of inquires from Vice President of FINCON and HQ FINCON requests.

• Review and approve general ledger entries (i.e., SAP) and review other financial transactions, i.e., eAPV, GLTMS.

• Review and approve the completion of and delivery of the month end, quarterly and year-end report packages to Vice President of FINCON and HQ FINCON.

• Manage the external audit process.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of SAP

• Advanced level of Microsoft Excel

• High performance orientation, ability to work well under pressure

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills

• Self-starter must have a positive attitude and strong desire for success

• Exceptional communication skills

Qualifications:

• Public accounting experience

• Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS

• Strong computer skills including MS Office
