You'll m anage the corporate accounting department providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company's future. You'll be responsible for the following items: • Directing cash management operations to include daily cash administration, management of current accounts and bank relations; Safeguarding assets and assuring accurate and timely recording of all transactions • Overseeing the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets. • Overseeing the activities of the accounts payable/accounts receivable; ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, employee expense reports and cash receipt application • Ensuring accurate payroll processing; overseeing payroll tax compliance; responsible for bi-weekly general ledger interface and 401K contribution payment submission • Responsible for annual independent audits and preparation of annual and estimated tax documents; Assuring corporate tax compliance to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes. • Establishing and maintaining systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value. • Responding to CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs. • Performing additional duties as assigned and required by management SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Directly supervises 2 employees within the department • Indirectly supervises 7-10 employees within the department • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor of Science Degree o Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or similar focus • Certified Public Accountant • Ten (10) years of experience in a corporate or public accounting setting • Six (6) years of direct supervisory experience • Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act and audit process • Understanding of Federal, State and Local Tax Regulations. • Proficient on Microsoft Excel, IBM Notes and Enterprise One accounting software package • Ability to work with all levels of management • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Occasionally required to walk • Continually required to sit, talk or hear and utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard COMPETENCIES: • Diversity
