Under the direction of the Shared Business Operations leadership, this role manages the effectiveness, efficiency, and engagement of the Healthcare Accounting process and coordinating communication between the health system and its various sites (hospitals, clinics, health systems, and corporate). The controller is responsible to help create an environment that enables the health system to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals. As a senior-level professional, they are responsible for serving as a conduit between Local facilities, Corporate Leadership and Shared Business Operations (SBO) while also collaborating with their peers to drive continuous improvement and support the development of a positive work culture.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of Controller level experience in a Hospital environment

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in Accounting/Finance

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited university

  • Strong understanding of general accounting knowledge and principles

  • Strong computer skills

Preferred:

  • Hospital/Healthcare System, multi-site accounting experience

  • Master's in Business Administration

  • Google Suite

  • Oracle

  • Six Sigma Certified

About the Opportunity:

  • Coordinating communication: The SBO Controller is responsible for coordinating communication between the health system and its various sites, ensuring that everyone is aware of important updates, changes, and initiatives.

  • Building relationships: The SBO Controller is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with the various sites, as well as with key stakeholders within the health system. This position may include travel up to 15% to CHS hospitals and health systems or the corporate office.

  • Providing Support: The SBO Controller is responsible for monthly/quarterly operating reviews including variance analyses.

  • Troubleshooting issues: This role is responsible for identifying and addressing issues that arise between the health system and its sites, such as communication breakdowns or disagreements.

  • Providing Support: The SBO Controller is responsible for assisting in preparation and supporting the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.

  • Providing Support: The SBO Controller is responsible for providing management with accurate and timely information necessary to make strategic and operating decisions related to finance and operations. This may include the need for creating and delivering communications and presentations at the hospital leadership level at times.

  • Ensuring compliance: The SBO Controller is responsible for ensuring that all sites are in compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Providing support: The SBO Controller may provide support and guidance to teammates in the Financial area or other areas(e.g. Accounts Payable resolutions), as well as to the various sites, as needed.

Up to 25% overnight travel may be required to maintain a positive working relationship with hospital and health systems stakeholders.
