Controller - Commercial Construction

We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including: | Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance | Voluntary Short Term Disability | Company Sponsored 401(k) Plan | Paid Time Off | Company Holidays | Education & Training Opportunities | As Controller, you will:  Direct and coordinate all aspects of the accounting department.  Manage all daily accounting tasks, including management reports and regulatory reporting.  Oversee and manage Payroll, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, Cash Flow, Contract and Subcontract Administration.  Maintain training and development of accounting staff  Rigorously follow the accounting and financial processes of all companies to ensure accurate financial accounting and control.  Create and implement accountability systems and internal controls that prevent errors and inaccurate accounting documents. Ensure compliance with financial laws and regulations.  Maintain consistent and collaborative communication with the LCG CEO/Principal and Leadership Group to establish priorities and ensure that the strategic financial goals of the companies are achieved.  Ensure adherence to our Safety for Life culture by exhibiting a strong safety focus; belief that the safety and health of all employees is not just about compliance, but about ensuring that everyone makes it home safely every day. Communicate the message of the Company Safety for Life Mission, Vision and Values to coworkers and trade partners.

Job Requirements  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or in a related field.  Professional certification as a Certified Public Accountant preferred.  At least 5 years of progressive experience as a controller or other similar position. Prior accounting experience in a commercial construction company preferred.  Exceptional knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices.  Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel, and experience or ability to learn Sage 300 CRE. Ability to achieve proficiency with innovative technology solutions.  Proven leadership skills with the ability to communicate a plan, motivate others and instill company values, and accomplish the stated objective as a team.  Ability to maintain a positive approach, professional demeanor and perform well under project constraints and deadlines.  Ability to retain flexibility, while still providing reliability and consistency.

Ability to work collaboratively with the highest level of integrity.  Demonstrate strong and consistent written and oral communication skills. Able to ask thoughtful questions and take a collaborative approach to problem solving.  Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem solving.  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to plan and prioritize objectives to achieve high-quality, successful results.  Demonstrate a learning orientation.
