Controller

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for the day-to-day management of accounting functions. Establishes adequate controls to ensure appropriate processing of all transactions and accurate and timely reporting of financial and regulatory information. Oversees all reporting, budgeting, and financial information for Central Bank of Boone County (CBBC), Central Bank of Audrain County (CBAC) and Central Bank of Moberly (CBM). Assists or performs accounting tasks related to other Lines of Business as requested by Holding Company Accounting Management.

DUTIES, SCOPE, RESPONSIBLIITIES & AUTHORITY:

Ensures completion of annual budgets for CBBC, CBAC and CBM. Coordinates the budget process with the Holding Company, Market Presidents, Executive Committee, ALCO, division managers and department managers.

Prepares input and reports as required. Responsible for the accurate reporting of the bank's financial position. Ensures bank management is provided timely and accurate financial information and prepares all reports requested by management.

Reviews the general ledger and monthly balance sheet and income statements to ensure proper accounting and tax treatment and proper classification. Explains variances and identifies trends in the data. Ensures timely presentation of information for the bank's ALCO Committee and Board of Directors.

Prepares requested reports for the Board of Directors, management, and various committees. Ensures appropriate recording of Other Real Estate Owned and Personal Property Repossessed. Coordinates annual 1099 A and C distribution. Ensures compliance with Holding Company and bank accounting policies and procedures.

Assists the CFO with coordination of leased property contracts. Ensures timely payment of lease payments.

Keeps CFO informed of upcoming lease expirations and CPI adjustments so that leases may be re-negotiated in a timely manner. Coordinates accounting involvement with financial audits. Assists the EVP of Consumer Banking as needed with reports and data related to the Customer Service Center.

Exhibits an understanding of complex accounting issues and projects. Assists other departments when accounting related issues arise or assistance is needed. Also assists in setting up procedures when new products are undertaken to ensure necessary controls are in place to maintain accuracy of general ledger and financial reports.

Reviews and approves bank expenses for validity, reasonableness, and accuracy. All expense payments should comply with Company policy and be legitimate expenses and categorized appropriately. Participates in bank committees and meetings including ALCO, Other Income Management and Staff Meeting.

Provides the committees with accurate and timely information needed to make decisions. Provides input and additional information to the committees as needed. Assist the CFO in preparing depository bids and special pricing of customer deposit relationships.

Keeps up to date on constantly changing products and services, accounting systems, laws and regulations impacting accounting treatment. Responsible for compliance with all banking regulations which are applicable to the job, including the Bank Secrecy Act and information security initiatives.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for management of CBBC, CBAC and CBM accounting functions. Responsible for managing the work of individuals who may report directly or indirectly to this position as needed to meet business needs.
