A local logistics company is seeking a Controller to provide leadership and coordination for the companys accounting department. You will work Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Job Requirements:
Oversee daily accounting operations
Prepare month-end financial reports with analysis
Monitor cash flow and prepare forecasts
Perform journal entries, sub-account transactions, and reconciliations
Provide training, supervision, and guidance to accounting staff
Maintain financial security by ensuring all company policies and procedures are followed
Audit insurance and risk management documentation
Maintain Liability, Workers Comp, and Unemployment Insurance programs
Develop and administer credit and collection programs
Assist in the preparation and completion of year-end audits
Perform other duties as assigned


Must have a Masters Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
Must have 5 years experience in a senior level finance or accounting position
Must have 8+ years of accounting experience with ability to succeed in a deadline driven and fast paced environment
Must have 5+ years of developing budgets, tracking budget expenses, and managing processes and/or people
Thorough knowledge of accounting, finance, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP is required
2 or more years of experience in the transportation/trucking industry, brokerage, sales/service or dispatching industry is desirable
Must have knowledge of state and federal financial regulations
Must be proficient with accounting software, Word, and Excel
Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality

The ideal candidate will have proven non-profit industry experience as an accountant, preferably in a management role. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, you will make it your mission to streamline our accounting system, help us implement a new cloud base financial management system, improve financial reporting processes, and develop dashboards of business intelligence. You will produce thorough financial-status reports for senior management to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.
