A financial institution is seeking a Controller to direct the financial affairs of the company and to establish major economic and financial objectives and policies. This is a Direct Hire opportunity and work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Job Requirements:
Prepare complete and accurate financial, statistical, and accounting reports
Oversee the Treasurer, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, real estate, and insurance activities
Hire, train, direct, and evaluate employee performance within the department
Assist with directing the companys investment activities
Work with auditors/examiners on year-end and comprehensive audits
Direct preparation and evaluation of budgets and capital plans
Analyze department budgets and allocate operating budget
Formulate and execute investment policy and prepare financial forecasts
Implement and review risk management initiatives
Review operational procedures to obtain optimum efficiency and reduce costs
Write, review, and distribute financial policy and procedure statements
Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Qualifications:
Must have a Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
Must have 5 to 10 years of similar or related experience
Background in financial data processing systems is preferred
Must have excellent self-direction, people, and analytical skills
Must be proficient with accounting software, Word, and Excel
Trust and diplomacy is required, along with courtesy and tact
Must have the ability to develop and maintain relationships
Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality

What you will do: The Manager, Cash Application is responsible for managingthe daily activities of the Division related to handling, processing, anddepositing cash receipts in order to ensure prompt and accurate recording ofpayments to customer accounts. The Manager, Cash Application will oversee reconciliationsto the general ledger, lockboxes and branch records as well as other analysesand month-end procedures. This position will provide leadership and directionto a staff of 20- 25 Cash Application Specialists and will closely interactwith the Credit and Collections function as well as other Division personnel.This position reports to the Division Controller with a strong dotted line tothe Division Director, Credit & Collections. Your responsibilities: * Overseescash application teams related to the daily processing of cash receipts andpostings to customer accounts, including payments made by credit card, lockboxand branch deposits as well as other adjustmentsto customer accounts for credits/debits and account write-offs. * Interfaces with the DisputeManagement, Credit and Collections, branchoperations and otherswithin the Division totroubleshoot and resolve customer payment discrepancies. * Overseesdeposit reconciliations to the general ledger, lockbox and branch records andother month-end procedures. * Oversees Specialists related to the research and resolution of aged unapplied cash receipts and postings to customer accounts, including: * Paymentsmade by credit card, lockbox and branch deposits, * Customerreturns and credit memos, * Adjustmentsto customer accounts for credits/debits and account write-offs. * Monitor/measure receivable performance, including monthly metricsand provide support/reporting to the Controller andCredit and Collections. * Develops,implements, and monitors procedures to ensure cost effective work flow in theprocessing and application of cash, investigate methodsof improving the capabilities of the organization through changesin structure, technology or method. * Providesleadership and direction to Cash Applications teams, comprising approximately25 associates. * Develop and conduct training programs to new and existingemployees within the Cash Applications Department, including onboarding ofassociates, as well as technical and processtraining. * Provide guidance and oversight of staff activities related to the research and resolution of customerpayment/invoicing issues; ensure follow-through / resolution of the root cause. * Develop staff through goal-setting, evaluations, feedback,discipline and on-going coaching to ensure activities are performed withindepartment and Company policy. * Create/measure/monitor receivable performance, includingmonthly metrics and provide support/reporting to the Division Controller, CFO,and Credit and Collections Management. * Analyze, review and make determinations on how to properly integrate newly acquired businesses into the Company's cashapplications function. * Designsreporting tools to assist in analyzing and disseminating large amounts of data. * Developsstrong relationships with the Credit & Collections team for collaborationon customer account reconciliations. * Develops,implements, and monitors procedures to ensure effective work flow in the cashapplications department. Suggest improvements to procedures where applicablefor efficiency * Workswith other Division teams on cross Divisional customers and best practices. * Specialprojects and other duties as assigned. What you will need: * Bachelor'sdegree required. * Minimumof five (5) years of progressive experience in accounts receivable, cashapplications and/or credit leadership/management preferably with multi-industryknowledge and exposure. * Priorexperience integrating new technologies into day-to-day operations. * PriorCredit & Collections experience is preferred. * Demonstrated track record of success in prior positions supervising the cash applications functionfor large companies, including experience with automated cash applications. * Astrong "client service" mindset and the ability to use collaborative andnon-adversarial approaches in achieving diverse goals. Ability to buildpositive relationships and strives to understand customer's needs, bothinternal and external. * Strongorganizational, team-building and people development skills. The ability towork and navigate within a complex matrixed organization. * Strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to assume increasing responsibilities in a rapidly-changing environment. * Abilityto understand the impact on new technologies on processes and costs. * Skilledin Google Suite Products including Sheets, Docs, Slides and Gmail along withMicrosoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook as well as a demonstratedability to utilize financial applications within ERP software (i.e. SAP,Oracle). Advanced knowledge andproficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel a plus. * Ability to manage multiplepriorities and jugglebetween divisional, localand corporate management and demands. * Abilityto analyze and disseminate large amounts of data. * Abilityto review a variety of reports, documents and on-line data systems to research problems. * Excellent analytical and creative problemsolving skills with the abilityto make independent decisionsbased on investigation and judgment as well as ability to discern when toescalate issues. * Excellentoral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
