Job Description:

This is an outstanding opportunity for a high-level finance/accounting leader to become the Controller in Springdale, AR. The Springdale Controller position reports to and is a strategic business partner to the Location Manager at the Springdale facility. The position reports directly to the Location Manager, with a dotted line to the Segment Controller and is primarily responsible for all functional accounting and control activities for Springdale. The Controller will manage business unit forecasting, planning, reporting, consolidation and analysis functions, and develop and manage processes to ensure compliance with ASAT and other internal audit requirements and will provide leadership to the Financial organization.


  • Serve as a member of the Springdale Lead Team and act as a business partner to the team as they develop and implement business strategy;

  • Act as a catalyst for change and help drive business performance improvement;

  • Manage planning, reporting, consolidation and analysis functions and develop and manage processes to ensure compliance with ASAT and other internal audit requirements, as well as US GAAP and Arconic reporting requirements;

  • Understands, reviews, and communicates key drivers for location success;

  • Drive financial engagement to operations;

  • Create and monitor internal controls that allow operations to meet the financial plan;

  • Ensure strict adherence to Arconic code of conduct and corporate policy;

  • Manage location performance pay plan;

  • Lead initiatives to close gaps from current performance to benchmark level;

  • Develop strong internal cost control systems to ensure that plans are met;

  • Ensure compliance with all audit requirements;

  • Develop systems to ensure maximum profit generation from all areas of the business;

  • Create an environment where problems are solved to the root cause;

  • Create an environment where systems are used to accurately plan and deliver according to expectations;

  • Continuously drive for process improvements;

  • Perform special projects or other duties as assigned/requested.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution;

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in an Accounting or Finance role;

  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing or supervising others in a direct reporting relationship;

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting;

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) from an accredited institution or Certified Public Accountant (CPA);

  • 5 years' experience in a manufacturing accounting role.

Furthermore the Senior Controller lead and provide analytics on strategic initiatives, identifying risks and opportunities during each quarter, including development of financial models and analysis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES General Responsibilities: * Responsible for supporting a business unit with annual production revenue of approximately 225 USD * Responsible for USDC financial reporting and analysis to Group Management * Responsible for USDC financial forecasting and budgeting activities including preparation and analysis of information, presenting to Group Management * Responsible for advanced local financial analysis to ensure integrity of information provided may be used to make business decisions * Responsible for review of transfer pricing including development of transfer prices, evaluation of purchase costs and selling prices related to intercompany transactions * Responsible for advising and providing information to Group Management to identify finance and operational issues timely for quick resolution and/or action * Coordinates periodical closing process to ensure that there is accuracy and timeliness, maintain a strict confidentiality of operational, financial, and business information * Supports and reviews internal controls and procedures in compliance with IFRS, IAS, US GAAP, SOX and Internal Group Policies * Review, analyze, and interpret results of all Financial Statements and make specific recommendations to management which will result on cost reductions and/or profit improvement * Responsible for an effective cycle count program * Oversees the activities of the Assistant Controller ensuring proper execution of his/her functions * Responsible to be a team player with USDC management assisting fellow managers whenever possible * Keep senior management informed of the divisions' performance and provide advice on all financial matters. * Assist North America corporate controlling in acquisitions and other projects from time to time MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required; Master degree and CPA or CMA strongly preferred EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 10 years' experience in positions leading up to Senior Controller or Finance Director, preferably in manufacturing and distribution environments KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: * Full understanding of accounting philosophy and procedures * Ability to understand business issues and develops projects to address them as necessary * High level of business acumen; * Integrity, professional work and business ethics, * Highly articulate, with excellent listening skill; someone who can effectively adapt mode and style appropriately to a targeted audience and situation; * Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, including being able to present in front of audience. * Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities * Ability to meet aggressive deadlines when necessary COMPUTER SKILLS: * Proficiency in use of MS (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), FAS * Working knowledge of reporting systems, such as OneStream or Hyperion * Working knowledge of ERP systems, such as BAAN and/or SAP * Capability to learn new software Nilfisk Advance Springdale AR
