Controller (Fully Remote)

ACERTUS is an automotive logistics company that offers a portfolio of services that span across the vehicle lifecycle. As a Controller, you will manage all accounting functions to ensure accurate financial data and reporting. This position is fully remote.

Schedule: Monday

• Friday 8am

• 5pm

Pay: Based on Experience

What will you be doing?

• Apply advanced analysis, insight, influence and challenge, through a "financial set of glasses"; to enhance the quality of business decision-making and drive improved performance.

• Partners with operations to perform financial and operational analysis to help drive efficiencies

• Review cash flow and oversee cash collection activities.

• Monitor progress of implementation API processes with business partners.

• Maintain the General Ledger and perform month-end closing.

• Hire, train, and coach a team of accounting professionals ensuring daily activities are timely and accurate.

• Lead a team of 4 direct reports and total team of ~ 25 employees.

• Communicate expectations clearly and promote relationship building across and within each line of service.

• Assess, recruit, develop, and retain talented team members who are well leveraged to support growth initiatives while serving as critical business partners and as available resources for colleagues.

• Foster a culture that promotes teamwork, grassroots problem solving and prevention, innovation, and change implementation.

• Partner closely with Business Product Owners to optimize ERP solution and drive best practices.

• Improve monthly close through automation and improvement of internal controls.

• Hold staff and business partners accountable for delivering results while serving as a change agent.

• Continuously challenge team members to achieve greater performance by questioning the status quo.

• Coach colleagues to be analysts and thinkers who anticipate opportunities and implement ideas for improvement in a prudent and tactful manner.

• Personal responsibility to manage change.

What are we looking for?

• This position requires a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar field.

• Must have more than ten years of experience in finance or accounting.

• Previous experience providing leadership, support, and strategy for a multi-site organization.

• Previous experience leading a team is required.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, strong Excel, and other general office equipment.

• Expert knowledge of US GAAP.

• A strategic mindset, solid analytical skills and a strong business acumen.

• A hands-on, non-hierarchical leadership style with an aptitude for coaching.

• Superior listening and probing skills.

• Ability to proactively research and resolve problems.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport across the company while quickly and confidently gaining the respect of others.

• Organized thinker with exceptional attention to detail.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
