You will be reporting to the General Manager of the Local Product Group (LPG) and to the NAM PT LBU (North America Power Transformer Local Business Unit) Controller. You will also be a member of the local Staff and management team. This role will be responsible for the financial management of the LPG, including coordination and direction of the accounting, budget and strategic planning, staffing, and all other activities necessary for a successful financial function. You will be supporting and serving as a Consultant and Advisor to the Business Unit management.
Middle Management / Senior Management
You'll work as part of our Power Grids team, which engineers solutions and products such as switchgear, capacitors, distribution, and traction transformers. We're the world's largest supplier of transformers and recently developed the highest-voltage direct current (DC) transformer ever.
Direct and support for the site reporting and consolidation of dual Power Grids (PG) site results.
Streamline dual product line Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) set up to offer clearer transparency and process improvements.
Continue & enhance SPEX implementation.
Streamline month-end close and improve financial processes.
Assure compliance and enforcement of Business Unit (BUU) specific finance directives and instructions, including the Group Accounting and Reporting Guidelines.
Identify risks and assure proper risk management procedures including Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) controls area adequate and effective.
Direct and support the BUU in strategic planning and implementation of agreed to programs and plans.
Direct and support the BUU in budgeting and implementation of agreed to programs and plans to achieve these budgets.
Serve as a Consultant and Advisor to General Manager and Management Team Members.
Define key performance indicators (KPIs), and assure implementation and use to improve business performance.
Perform analysis and reviews of customer proposals within the Business Unit (BU).
Assure proper financial reporting as required for the business.
Push continuous improvements and cost reductions.
Ensure coordination and cooperation with shared service centers.
Supervision of Project Controller.
Follow and perform duties in accordance with the ABB Code of Conduct.
Travel approximately 5%-10%.
Bachelor's Degree in accounting/finance and a minimum of ten (10) years in finance and accounting operational experience in multi-function units or multinational company.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States.
MBA or Master of Accountancy preferred. Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Managerial Accountant) and / or CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) are also preferred
This position requires a broad knowledge of diverse financial functions in an engineering manufacturing company and general business.
The complex financial and related responsibilities of this position require exceptional analytical, decision making and planning skills plus the ability to be strategic leader and innovator.
Understanding ABB financial and business processes and structure is preferred.
Excellent communication and presentation skills. This position requires regular communication with ABB executives globally.
Proven ability to work at a high degree of teamwork and group synergy.
Knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint. Use of Excel should include V-lookup, sensitivity analysis, macros, external source data links, and pivot tables.
