We are currently on a hunt for a Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Bedford Park, IL.
What you’ll be doing:

  • The Controls Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining instrumentation and control systems in support of plant production, quality, GMP and safety goals.
  • Ensuring the instrumentation, control systems, and documentation (and validation or PSM where required) are capable of supporting the quality and production goals of the assigned unit in the plant to meet business needs.
  • Managing systems, service contracts or software licenses as directed to maintain the overall instrumentation and control systems.
  • Designing and implement assigned changes to instrumentation and control systems.
  • Maintaining and implement changes to the plant instrumentation/control systems

We would love to hear from you if :

  • You have a Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Chemical.
  • You have 3+ years of experience in chemical Industry.
  • You have experience with the process control systems like DeltaV, Allen Bradley PLCs, Provox DCS, Foxboro I/A DCS, Aspen IP.21, Intellution HMI.
  • You have knowledge of measurement transmitter and control valve theory of operation, application, selection, specification, and installation.

Supporting plant projects through design and implementation of changes throughout the plant. As a Controls Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will include: * Ensure the instrumentation, control systems, and documentation (and validation or PSM where required) are capable of supporting the quality and production goals of the assigned unit in the plant to meet business needs. * Management of systems, service contracts, or software licenses as directed to maintain the overall instrumentation and control systems. * Design, implement, and maintain assigned changes plant instrumentation/control systems * Participate in control systems lifecycle planning to ensure continued support and fit for use as they approach obsolescence. * Manage permits and projects as the need arises within approved cost, schedule, safety and scope criteria. * Maintain compliance within organization Safety and Health programs. * Document to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and protection of the workforce and equipment. * Evaluate opportunities for improving plant automation and information systems. * Maintain and improve skills required to ensure safe and efficient operation of instrumentation and control equipment. * Acquire knowledge of new technologies and applications that may be beneficial to the business. Share knowledge and provide assistance within the group, with other plants and any other customers within the organization. * Manage activities and train maintenance, contractors, operators, and engineers when implementing changes or responding to issues with instrumentation/control systems to minimize downtime. The Controls Systems Engineer position is well-suited for you if you have: * Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, in order to work effectively with peers, plant operating staff, and other engineering resources. * Proven ability to coordinate, schedule, and carry out multiple tasks with limited supervision. * Experience in applying Project Management techniques. Qualified candidates will have: * Bachelors degree in related field, in addition to experience in Process and Process Controls area, or equivalent work experience. * Detailed knowledge and experience with the plant process control systems in more than one of the following control systems: Allen Bradley PLCs, Provox DCS, Foxboro I/A DCS, Aspen IP.21, Intellution HMI. * Knowledge of measurement transmitter and control valve theory of operation, application, selection, specification, and installation. * Demonstrated knowledge of analog control theory, configuration, and tuning.
