Overview

BlueHalo is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our Space Technologies Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of control systems for space applications.

A Control Systems Engineer in our Space Technologies Division plays a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of control systems for spacecraft and other space technologies. This role requires a deep understanding of control theory, system dynamics, and the unique challenges associated with space-based systems.

Mission Briefing: We're on a quest to find the Leonardo da Vinci of the space systems world. You're not just an engineer; you're a maestro, a pioneer, a veritable Jedi of the gimbal. Your playground? The vast expanse of space. Your toys? Satellites, rovers, and spacecraft that make sci-fi look like yesterday's news.

You'd like to do this

Utilize your gimbal wizardry to stabilize our satellites with the grace of a ballet dancer in zero-G.

Employ state-space control methods to navigate rovers over extraterrestrial dunes like a cosmic rally driver.

Orchestrate spacecraft maneuvers that would make Newton rewrite his laws.

  • Collaborate with interstellar architects to design the next generation of space systems that boldly go beyond the final frontier.

  • Scientific research, design, development, and analysis of state-of-the-art electro-optical and opto-mechanical systems for precision sensing and laser communication applications.

  • Must have the ability to provide technical guidance and lead a team of engineers and scientists

You're required to have this

Requirements:

  • A degree in engineering that's weighty enough to counterbalance your out-of-this-world ideas.

  • A minimum of 3 orbits (years) of hands-on experience with gimbals, satellites, and rovers.

  • Proficiency in state-space control methods that's so advanced, it could be considered an alien technology.

  • A history of space systems success that's longer than the Starship Enterprise's service record.

  • Experience with applied control theory

  • Undergraduate study in control system theory

  • Undergraduate experience in laboratory experimentation using advanced control system technologies

  • Experience with classical and state-space control methods

  • Experience translating continuous time control algorithms to discrete time implementations

  • Experience with Gimbals or other actuated mechanical systems

  • A U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance.

Desirable Skills:

Ability to communicate with extraterrestrial tech support (just in case).

A knack for explaining complex concepts to non-engineers without resorting to "It's magic."

Perks:

  • A work environment that's literally out of this world.

  • Health benefits that cover you from here to Mars.

  • A retirement plan that's as solid as the rock we'll be landing on.

  • So, if you're ready to take control and have a universe of fun doing it, launch your application our way. We promise it'll be one small step for you, but one giant leap for your career!
