The Consumer Lending team partners with other businesses across Wells Fargo to create and deliver transformational experiences that help customers gain access to credit. The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices, as well as online and digital channels.

This team member will partner with members of the Consumer Lending Control team to develop and implement risk reporting to support their respective businesses. They will work closely with individuals to document their requirements; mockups as needed and test the report once development has been completed. They will also be responsible for evaluating our existing inventory of reports and driving efficiencies through rationalization or elimination of reports no longer in use.

They will work closely with other team members within the Analytics and Reporting team to deliver holistic end to end solutions for our business partners. They will be responsible for designing reports used in support of Enterprise Risk Committee, Consumer Lending LOB Risk Committee, and line of business specific risk and business review meetings. In addition, the Analytics and Reporting team is also responsible for any ad-hoc reporting needs or inquiries. They are also responsible for ensuring that all solutions developed meet internal policy requirements and regulatory standards.

Team Member will be expected to initiate action and manage change in a fast-paced environment. Strong relationship management, influencing, and execution skills are required. A key differentiator will be the ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex, heavily matrixed corporate environment. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement while having the ability to make timely and difficult decisions.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Documentation and prototyping of user requirements

  • Design of efficient, repeatable trend analyses for integration into standard reporting

  • Design and deliver effective solutions from concept to execution.

  • Testing of enhanced or new reporting

Position is currently remote; however, candidate(s) will be required to work on site when Wells Fargo returns to standard operating model.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of risk management experience demonstrated through work or military; or 1+ year of financial services industry experience and a BS/BA degree or higher in business

  • Ability to gather business requirements and create technical solutions

  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements surrounding the financial services industry

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial services industry: compliance, risk management, audit operations, products, and regulatory environment

  • Prior experience of using SQL, SAS, or other data management, reporting and query tools.

  • Good understanding of policies, procedures, and programs to ensure appropriate and effective risk mitigation controls are in place

  • Experience in risk monitoring and reporting including risk evaluation and assessment, issues management and escalation process development

  • Experience using reporting applications such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, and advanced Microsoft Excel

  • Strong Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint) skills

The Cards, Merchant and Retail Services/Personal Lending (CRMS/PL) Control Team provides guidance to CRMS/PL businesses to support their commitment to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal operational policies and procedures. Through joint accountability with CRMS/PL process/business leaders for control functions, Controls Management enables the development and maintenance of a strong control environment that leads to early identification and sustainable mitigation of operational risk. This role directly supports Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA) work for CRMS/PL as a business aligned Control subject matter expert and is the primary consultant/coordinator for Business Continuity, Disaster Response, and Complaints Management programs for Consumer Collections & Servicing (CCS) & Personal Lending Control. This role will represent CCS Control for high risk business initiatives and identifying/assessing emerging risks. Responsibilities include: * Contribute to the development and enhancement of the business control environment through execution of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program. * Lead the CCS & Personal Lending Control team's support of key risk programs including Business Continuity, Disaster Response, and Complaints Management. * Represent CCS Control for complex/high risk business initiatives- ensuring initiative risks are identified, documented, and sufficiently addressed in a formal control plan * Lead assessments and document CRMS & PL's exposure to emerging risks * Lead and influence partnerships with business process owners by consulting and providing expertise and strategic direction in control design to effectively mitigate risks, including design of effective means of measurement. * Engage in the development and implementation of new controls, action plans, and root cause analysis. * Assess and design appropriate metrics to inform and monitor the health of the operational risk environment.
