We are looking for a contributor to make KIRO Radio's Dori Monson Show the leading provider of timely, relevant, and compelling news by researching, preparing, writing, and publishing exclusive content generated by the show.

The successful candidate will be able to write for the web and use all pertinent social channels to engage with the Dori Monson audience before, during, and after the show.


  • Evaluate, research, and transform news topics from the show beyond the terrestrial broadcast.

  • Help market the show and build audience engagement through all available channels

  • Work with KIRO Radio producers, reporters, contributors, editors, and managers to ensure tone and the highest levels of accuracy.

  • Carry out station brand and mission


  • Outstanding newswriting and social media writing skills

  • Consistent and high degree of news accuracy and station branding

  • Strong and sophisticated knowledge of local and national news trends

  • Recognize, conceptualize, and develop unique angles within daily news stories

  • Ability to cultivate and maintain a wide range of news resources and contacts

  • Work effectively in a team environment

  • Familiar with laws on libel and slander and familiar with FCC Rules and Regulations

  • Work in compliance with company brand, policies, and procedures


  • 3-5 years news, sports or radio experience

  • Experience interviewing news subjects

  • Ability to find, record, edit and mix audio

  • Experience using NewsBoss and Adobe Audition

  • Digital video production skills

  • Experience using various platform analytics

With heavy phone sales utilization through various referral methods, you’ll be creating strong pipelines of potential clients and credit union members and following up with existing members who have expressed interest in lending needs.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Essential Job Functions</strong></p> <ul> <li>Receives consumer loan applications (auto, boat, RV, personal loans, and credit cards) from various sources.</li> <li>Enters loan applications on the loan processing system, obtains additional information from the member as necessary, and forwards for decision, if necessary.</li> <li>Makes outbound calls to members to support and promote credit union products and services.</li> <li>Must be able to meet specific monthly loan production and ancillary product goals.</li> <li>Communicates decision to member.</li> <li>Works in partnership with the processing team to schedule loan closings.</li> <li>Maintains thorough knowledge of consumer lending policies and procedures in order to knowledgeably respond to member requests.</li> <li>Supports, promotes, and cross-sells credit union products and services.</li> <li>Supports, promotes and recommends products and services.</li> <li>Contributes to maintaining the department’s Internal Service Survey satisfaction ratings in accordance with credit union goals by providing high quality service based on our service standards</li> <li>Completes Product/Service Knowledge Assessment within 90 days of employment with a score of at least 80%. (Note: This assessment may be taken as many times as needed to achieve this score).</li> <li>For the purpose of maintaining Credit Union goals, it is the responsibility of each employee to strive for the continuous quality improvement of processes and quality of service to internal and external customers.</li> </ul> <p><strong><strong>Other duties may be assigned.</strong> </strong></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work is performed in an office environment, in a call center setting.
