We are looking for a contributor to make KIRO Radio's Dori Monson Show the leading provider of timely, relevant, and compelling news by researching, preparing, writing, and publishing exclusive content generated by the show.
The successful candidate will be able to write for the web and use all pertinent social channels to engage with the Dori Monson audience before, during, and after the show.
Evaluate, research, and transform news topics from the show beyond the terrestrial broadcast.
Help market the show and build audience engagement through all available channels
Work with KIRO Radio producers, reporters, contributors, editors, and managers to ensure tone and the highest levels of accuracy.
Carry out station brand and mission
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Outstanding newswriting and social media writing skills
Consistent and high degree of news accuracy and station branding
Strong and sophisticated knowledge of local and national news trends
Recognize, conceptualize, and develop unique angles within daily news stories
Ability to cultivate and maintain a wide range of news resources and contacts
Work effectively in a team environment
Familiar with laws on libel and slander and familiar with FCC Rules and Regulations
Work in compliance with company brand, policies, and procedures
3-5 years news, sports or radio experience
Experience interviewing news subjects
Ability to find, record, edit and mix audio
Experience using NewsBoss and Adobe Audition
Digital video production skills
Experience using various platform analytics
