The Contracts Support Analyst will work closely with attorneys and BCBSA business teams on procurement, government contracting, and litigation matters. The primary responsibility of this role will be facilitating contracting processes for the Federal Employee Program's (FEP) legal team and ensuring through all stages of the contracting process that BCBSA's interests are protected.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for facilitating legal contracting process from beginning to end for the Federal Employee Program (FEP) legal team. This includes: Partnering with business teams to understand their programmatic needs and then guiding them to draft strong, clear statements of work; ensuring consistency of terms/business requirements across all FEP agreements; building strong contractual language to ensure the protection of BCBSA's interests; identifying key issues and helping to minimize legal risk; coordinating reviews by FEP attorneys.
Responsible for monitoring the Federal Register for relevant rulemakings, running activity reports, and assisting with client meetings and discussing findings with BCBSA attorneys.
Responsible for supporting litigation attorneys by setting up and maintaining case files, tracking and maintaining case status logs, monitoring court dockets, conducting legal research, and assisting with discovery.
Responsible for investigating and preparing responses to FOIA requests and subpoenas for documents, including litigation involving BCBS Plans.
Required Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of experience working as a paralegal
Experience drafting contracts and related documents; strong working knowledge of contract structure, terms, and provisions
Excellent organizational and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines and to handle rush projects, and the ability to work effectively as a team player
Proficient at Microsoft Office applications, including SharePoint
Proactive self-starter who shows project ownership and enjoys working across departments
Preferred Basic Qualifications:
Experience working with government contracts
Experience working with commercial contracts
Experience working in a litigation setting
Experience using contract management tools
Experience using Serengeti Legal Tracker
