The Missile Defense Solutions (MDS) team is seeking a level 5 contracts negotiator and Team Leader. In this role, the negotiator will serve as the primary contracts expert supporting MDS's Special Programs and Command and Control Battle Management (C2BMC) Program. The successful candidate will be the primary customer interface for contractual matters related to MDS programs, working directly with the MDS leadership and program teams. As the level 5 Contracts Negotiator Senior Staff, the candidate will:
Negotiate, administer, extend, terminate and renegotiate standard and nonstandard contracts;
Support classified and unclassified contracts as required;
Evaluate contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations;
Maintain communications to ensure timely contract execution by the parties; and
Ensure final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations.
As the Team Leader, the candidate will also:
Plan and participate in training of contract practices and negotiations to company personnel;
Allocate work to the team members;
Provide guidance and mentorship for contractual matters and principles;
Ensure policy and procedure compliance;
Serve as a subject matter expert for contractual matters;
Represent contracts leadership as required with customer meetings and engagements;
Provide on-going feedback for growth and development of team members; and,
Interface and report directly with Contracts Senior Leadership.
The successful candidate shall have and or demonstrate the following key attributes:

Make effective and sound decisions that could have significant effect on the financial, employee or public relations posture of the organization;
Recommend actions or decisions that if made erroneously, could result in failure to achieve goals critical to the major objectives of the organization
Actively participate in the growth and development of team members through partnering with leadership
Serve as prime consultant and external spokesperson for the MDS contracts organization on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives; and,
Develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 15 years or more of professional experience; or 13 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an expert, authority in discipline.
