As part of the US & Canada Legal team, you will primarily focus on providing contracting support and counsel in connection with our client engagements in the US and Canada. You will work with members of the US & Canada Legal team including other contracting professionals and Associate General Counsel. In addition to contracting support, you will also provide support on projects, including those related to contract management, contract templates, and related trainings and playbooks, as well as take on additional responsibilities on an "as-needed" basis.
You will draft, review, and negotiate wide variety of agreements, including consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements, third party access agreements and various others.
You will identify and advise various internal teams on standard contracting requirements, intellectual property rights, data privacy laws and requirements, information-sharing requirements, other legal and commercial risks, and internal policies, guidelines, and best practices.
You will create, update, and distribute standard form contracts and related documentation in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
You will work with legal colleagues on projects in support of firm and department initiatives, as well as contribute to knowledge sharing.
University degree; J.D. or equivalent a plus, but not required
5+ years' experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts in a sophisticated environment
Experience working for or with pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, digital health, Contracting research organization, or other healthcare companies a plus, but not required
Demonstrated ability to draft, revise and negotiate contracts such as the ones noted above
Adaptable, motivated and self-starter who effectively prioritizes workflow, drives to completion, is highly responsive and consistently delivers high quality results across multiple assignments under tight time frames
Ability to function independently, with moderate supervision, and awareness of when to engage other colleagues
