Job Summary:
Manages prime contract activities to ensure that all requirements and obligations are fulfilled, including any coordination with key Supply Chain (Major Subcontracts) as required. Tasks include coordinating and submitting proposals, and leading negotiations. Together with the Project Management Team, proactively anticipates, identifies, analyzes and informs management of the financial, legal and performance risks that can impact success. Ensures Cubic continues to manage its contractual obligations (internal and external) and keep management informed regarding performance under assigned Contracts and proposals. This position typically exercises discretionary and substantial decision-making authority under limited supervision and direction.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead contract formation and management activities for diverse contract types with various customers, including the U.K. Ministry of Defence, foreign governments, and commercial entities.
Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related correspondence with customers and internal teams.
Coordinate with Contracts, Supply Chain, Data Management, and Program Management to monitor contract deliverables for compliance.
Identify and mitigate risks in solicitation requirements, proposals, and contracts.
Resolve contractual performance issues, including claims, changes, and terminations.
Lead contract proposal submission and negotiation, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Manage project Change Management and coordinate contractual activities for timely issue resolution.
Interact with senior leadership to provide updates and recommendations on contract-related activities.
Draft contractual agreements and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
Coordinate with Supply Chain and Program Management to support project-related subcontracts.
Maintain Contracts databases and documentation accurately and timely.
Mentor less-experienced Contracts Professionals and other relevant personnel.
Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes affecting contracts and agreements.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Degree in relevant technical or business discipline
Extensive experience in contracts management and team leadership
Demonstrated leadership ability in Contract Management for various contract types
Strong working knowledge of Defence Conditions (DEFCONs), U.K. MoD invitations to tender, EU trade regulations, International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITARs)
Thorough knowledge of prime contract formation and administration
Proven ability to negotiate terms, conditions, and price
Strong written and oral communication skills
Analytical skills for organizing, planning, and executing contracts
Interpersonal skills for team collaboration and interaction with U.S. and foreign agencies
Proficiency in PC and business software, including SAP
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
