Systems & Technology Research (STR) is currently seeking a highly motivated student to support our Contracts & Legal Group. STR is a privately-owned, rapidly growing business focused on research and development for the defense and intelligence communities. We are a nationally recognized leader in research areas including data analytics, sensors and signal processing, electronic warfare, cyber, video and image understanding, command and control, and precision navigation. Several programs have transitioned advanced technology to military and intelligence users. While our primary focus is on serving U.S. Government customers, we are pursuing commercial applications as well.

Core Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of contract and subcontract administration functions, including:

    *
  • Reviewing federal Government contracts and modifications and drafting summaries of key information
  • *
  • Processing legal agreements and updating Contracts group databases with key information
  • *
  • Drafting various notifications and completing various reports required by law, regulation, and contract for distribution to the federal Government or other companies
  • *
  • Interfacing with other functional business areas across the organization
  • *
  • Completing and coordinating contract close-out documentation
  • *
  • Filing and organizing contracts and legal documents in accordance with internal policies and procedures
  • *
  • Contributing to internal and external audits
  • *
  • Participating in various projects within the Contracts group

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications:

    *
  • 0-2 years of experience in an office setting
  • *
  • Pursuing a J.D., MBA, or Bachelors degree in Pre-Law, Political Science, Business or related field
  • *
  • Interest in reading and analyzing legal agreements
  • *
  • Ability to handle sensitive information using discretion and sound judgment
  • *
  • Collaborative, self-motivated and efficient
  • *
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to change
  • *
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with internal and external customers
  • *
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • *
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other standard computer applications
  • *
  • Thirst for excellence and enthusiasm to expand his/her experience and take on additional responsibilities within the organization
