23andMe is seeking an experienced Contracts Associate to join a fast-paced, dynamic team and work on contracts and contract lifecycles. We are looking for a candidate who has solid contract experience and can single handedly manage a large workload of agreements with our business partners. As part of a small team of lawyers and other contracts associates and paralegals, the Contracts Associate must be a self-starter and able to work proactively in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do
Independently manage a wide variety of contracts during the entire contract lifecycle, including but not limited to NDAs, consulting agreements, services agreements, SOWs, license agreements, and operational agreements.
Directly work with business stakeholders to assist in contractual and legal matters and provide guidance on Company policies and procedures relevant to contracting.
Draft and review agreements in a timely manner, working with business partners to obtain relevant information and provide guidance on contractual issues. Work to efficiently negotiate and finalize agreements.
Help develop operational processes related to agreements.
Assist Legal staff in drafting policies and presentations; assist in administrative matters as needed.
What you'll bring
J.D. or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2 years of relevant law firm or in-house experience as a Paralegal or Contracts Associate or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated ability to draft, negotiate and complete agreements with minimal supervision. Solid understanding of contract issues and terms, including those related to intellectual property, health care and data privacy.
Ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of agreements, and maintain excellent work product, in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to effectively communicate with, and thoughtfully present information to, department heads and other internal stakeholders.
Expert knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong proficiency working in Mac environment, including with Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc.).
Excellent time management and organizational skills; strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Team player, excellent judgment and a great sense of humor.
