The Recruiting Consultant is responsible for creating and implementing a job-specific recruitment strategy to attract highly qualified candidates. The incumbent will also be responsible for the successful execution of the hiring process and creating a positive experience for all candidates. We have the need for part-time to full-time work hours (20-40) based on company recruiting capacity needs on a long-term basis. This position offers the flexibility to work those hours within our offices and/or remotely. Some recruiting meetings within our offices will require in-person attendance at least one day every week.
Partner with HR and hiring managers to support their recruitment plans and strategies.
Work with hiring managers and HR to create a sourcing plan to attract qualified candidates.
Present a diverse pool of candidates for each open position.
Work with hiring manager and HR to develop interview and selection requirements and criteria.
Manage and prioritize a large volume of unique requisitions.
Attract, source, and screen qualified applicants and candidates.
Manage the interview process to include applicant flow control, conducting phone screens and in-person interviews, and providing frequent and timely communication to all parties.
Facilitate post-interview meetings to debrief and gather feedback from hiring managers and interviewers regarding candidates.
Maintain a relationship with hiring leaders for direction, track progress, and make adjustments to search strategies as needed.
Build talent pool to fill future openings in a timely manner.
Consult with hiring managers and HR on possible challenges such as counter offers and relocation needs.
Communicate candidate feedback to hiring managers and HR.
Apply and stay current on sourcing techniques and the recruitment process.
Represent A.O. Smith at recruiting events.
Develop an understanding of the business, growth plans, and challenges.
Partner with outside sourcing organizations as needed to increase the qualified candidate pool.
Perform other activities as needed or as directed.
Bachelor's Degree required.
Minimum of 3 years of direct hire recruiting experience including professional positions. Manufacturing industry experience with salaried roles required.
Knowledge of recruiting, traditional sourcing, and legal issues related to hiring required.
Must be adept at passive sourcing and use of social media.
Superior listening skills and ability to solicit and use feedback in a positive way.
Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment.
Prior work experience in sales is desirable, but not required.
Ability to handle and prioritize projects and a high volume of unique requisitions which require substantial sourcing.
Demonstrated track record of success adhering to a defined recruiting process and performance to meet established hiring metrics/plans.
Previous experience using an applicant tracking system required.
Excellent communication skills, both orally and written, to communicate with candidates and employees of all levels.
Strong interpersonal skills to convey approachability and trust, work collaboratively and establish relationships. Must be persistent and persuasive without being discourteous.
Ability to thoroughtly vet and evaluate candidates.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills required. Ability to interact with candidates whenever they're available.
