Position Summary The Contracting Manager will be actively involved in the development and negotiation of agreements, amendments and other related documents between the MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization (ACO)#and Payers and between the MaineHealth ACO and contracting providers (Medical and# Behavioral HealthCare providers and facilities). The Contracting Manager will assist in financial modeling related to contracting as needed. The Contracting Manager will assist in the identification and resolution of payer issues impacting MaineHealth ACO members.

Further, the Contracting Manager will participate in communications and education to MaineHealth ACO members regarding Payer agreements. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Bachelor#s degree, Masters preferred.# At least 5 years# experience in managed care or related healthcare field. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and to collaborate with teams of individuals in diverse settings. Ability to manage conflict, stress and multiple simultaneous work demands in an effective, professional manner.

Ability and willingness to self-motivate, prioritize, and be willing to change processes to improve effectiveness efficiency. Adapts to changing organizational priorities. Knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office.

Manages MaineHealth#Planning Department data resources and databases for internal planning uses and for required external reporting.# Develops information and data for environmental assessments and other major strategic planning and business development projects. Interprets data based on industry knowledge, and converts data into information for management and leadership decision-making. Collaborates with other analysts, management and#clinicians and serves as a resource to achieving the organization#s goals. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Bachelor#s degree required with a minimum of 4 years of work experience in a similar role; Master#s Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred. Significant experience supporting the development of environmental, competitive and other strategic studies, including the analysis of assumptions and the interpretation of data results. Expert use of spreadsheet, graphics, mapping applications and database software with the ability to integrate elements. Ability to learn new software or other data tools independently, as needed. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in SAS (Statistical Analysis Software) or STATA required, and some knowledge of SPSS (Statistical Package of Social Sciences) helpful, spreadsheet, relational database, graphics and word processing software is required.# Skills with additional statistical software packages are desirable. Strong analytical and problem solving skills and high attention to detail with the demonstrated ability to produce high-quality output that is complete, accurate and suitable for distribution to high-level audiences.
