Job Summary:
Responsible for the technical planning, coordination and conduct of test activities at the system level across projects. The incumbent will work with multiple internal engineering teams to develop system requirements analysis, system configuration data and automated test activities to ensure required system performance and reliability standards are designed in and verified. The essential function is to drive design, development and test activities from the system requirements view. Additional duties include the implementation of tools suitable for increasing the efficiency of system testing, developing and tracking system test metrics. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will exercise discretionary decision-making authority.


Essential Job Duties and

Responsibilities:
  • Works with engineering leads to develop system requirements.

  • Works closely with management to develop and coordinate system test concepts and objectives.

  • Manages one or more System Test Personnel and drives their day-to-day activities.

  • Works closely with software developers to create software test work products including test plans, test cases, test procedures, and test reports.

  • Identifies test resources and need dates.

  • Prepares software test status reports and presents status to management and customers.

  • Performs procedure validations, software builds, and test administration.

  • Traces system requirements from customer specifications to test cases.

  • Assists in the development and maintenance of the System Test Environment (STE).

  • Conducts integration and formal system tests.

  • Maintains the test requirements database.

  • Prepares presentation material and leads Test Readiness Reviews.

  • Provides technical guidance and training to junior test personnel.

  • Develops and manages test budgets and schedules.

  • Keeps abreast of improvements in system test engineering techniques.

  • Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.

  • Interfaces with hardware, software, and systems engineers to evaluate test alternatives.

  • Interfaces with the QA organization to perform any corrective actions resulting from reviews and audits.

  • Performs other system test engineering duties as required to meet contractual requirements.

  • Writes device/system procedures and conduct tests.

  • Actively drives the management and resolution of system ARQs and Issues.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Four year college degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or other related technical discipline plus a minimum of two years of experience, or a Master's of Science degree. Requires knowledge of system test engineering and knowledge of mobile application testing. Necessary computer skills include: Experience with iOS and Android native application testing, JAVA, Web Serivces (SOAP/REST), SQL Queries, TestRail and JIRA as well as proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio and other MS Office Applications. Effective written and oral communication skills are required. Ability to use typical PC software such as word processors, databases, flowcharts, project schedulers, and spreadsheets. Must have the ability to analyze and test complex engineering software, and be able to prioritize and conduct multiple tasks under deadline and budget constraints. Use of standard hand tools, and special and general purpose test equipment. Knowledge and experience using tools like Selenium, Postman/SoapUI and other Test Automation tools desired. Able to prioritize work and complete multiple tasks under deadline and budget guidelines. Demonstrate people-oriented management expertise and practices. Must have strong presentation and organizational skills. Travel, both domestic and foreign is necessary in performing on-site testing.

Will support Aegis Combat System Integration Testing for DDG-51 and CG-47 Class ships as a Radar Systems Test and Integration Engineer as part of the Aegis Modernization Team – San Diego (AMT – SD). Will be responsible for ensuring the AN/SPY-1 Radar System is operational and available to support Combat System testing during Aegis Modernization Availabilities. After a successful training period the specific responsibilities include: 1. Responsible for ensuring the AN/SPY-1 Radar equipment suite, radar control computer program, and equipment interfaces are operational and ready to support all test events. 2. Provide AN/SPY Radar System status reports, as required, to the AWS Lead Engineer/ Test Directors 3. Review existing AN/SPY-1 test procedures, recommend changes, and document test procedure discrepancies for future revision 4. Execute Test Procedures and Test Plans as required to demonstrate radar performance for both in port and at sea test events and generate test reports 5. Analyze element test results and report findings as necessary to support those functional tests involving the AN/SPY-1 Radar System 6. Interface with equipment In-Service Engineering Agencies (ISEA), Combat System Engineering Agent (CSEA) and Software Support Activities (SSA) to research and resolve SPY system anomalies. 7. Lead troubleshooting of AN/SPY-1 Radar System equipment, configuration and computer program problems and document discrepancies 8. Ensure AN/SPY-1 radiation safety processes are up-to-date and followed within acceptable OSHA operating limits 9. Support crew familiarization with AN/SPY-1 Radar System equipment, maintenance and operations. 10. Support Fleet Readiness troubleshooting calls Basic Qualifications: Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance Candidate will be subject to drug screening as per company policy Must be physically able to work aboard a U.S. Navy ship and support short underway periods Ability to travel up to 50 percent of the time CONUS and OCONUS BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering discipline or applicable experience Demonstrated experienced with Phased Array Radar hardware/software and testing procedures, and the ability to analyze test results and report findings Demonstrated understanding of theory and operations of computer/network system Demonstrated understanding of basic Electrical Test Equipment: Oscilloscope, Power Meters, Logic Analyzer Demonstrated knowledge of LINUX/UNIX operating systems Candidate should possess strong analytical and problem solving skills with good written and verbal communication skills Intermediate level of competence with Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, Power Point and Project) Desired Skills: 1.
