Contract Specialist

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Contract Specialist to support a unique opportunity to support DARPA's Contracts Management Office (CMO). This collaborative team administers contracts, grants, and other transactions in support of DARPA's research and development mission to make pivotal investments in breakthrough technologies for national security.

Location: Arlington, VA (Near Ballston Metro stop)- Hybrid schedule, which requires only 1 day per week in office.

Responsibilities:

• Upon your start, the responsibilities will be preparing and administering terms and conditions of Department of Defense Research & Development (FAR Part 35) contracts
• Join in the negotiation of contracts
• Prepare contract modifications while Analyzing procurement policies and procedures
• Analyzing proposed costs and prices to stay within budget constraints
• Assist in the preparation of required contract file documentation per the FAR, DFARS, and other relevant policies/regulations.

Required Skills:

• 6+ years of experience with government contracts
• Experience using Procurement Desktop-Defense technologies, PD2
• Bachelor's degree
• Active DoD Secret clearance

Desired Skills:

• Understanding of and experience with Part 35 - Research and Development Contracting
• Experience in government or commercial procurement (government preferred); contract administration and negotiation; cost and pricing analysis. DoD, Procurement Desktop Defense (PD2) contractual software, and R&D contracting experience a plus.
• Experience with Non-FAR based instruments such as Other Transaction Agreements, Grants, and/or Cooperative Agreements a plus but not required.

Compensation:

• $110,000-$155,000 depending on experience
