Are you experienced with Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and all phases from cradle to grave operations, including extensive knowledge of the procedures in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)?

Do you possess a Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Certification in Contracting?

Do you have experience with commercial vehicle leasing contracts for the DoD?

If you said yes to any of these questions, we have a great opportunity for you! We are seeking Contract Specialists for our government client to provide acquisition and contract administration support.

Responsibilities are but not limited to;

  • Expertise in Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) of all phases from cradle to grave operations, including knowledge of the procedures in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

  • Provide research, technical expertise and assistance in project management, contract acquisitions, and procurement.

  • Support various Government personnel (end users) with preparing their procurement packages for award.

  • Develop guidance and direction on acquisition position identification, acquisition position coding and documentation support, analysis activities and workforce planning activities in compliance with the standards of the Defense Acquisition Workforce Implementation Act (DAWIA) and existing policies and procedures.

  • Provide advice and assistance to functional area technical experts (COR and program offices) on contractual matters in the acquisition planning stages based on a working knowledge of regulation policy.

  • Plan, prepare and maintain acquisition plans and overall acquisition administration functions to include program control and tracking.

Required Experience:

A minimum of 2 years' experience in Government contracting.

  • Big plus having experience primarily associated with SAP type contracts and commercial vehicle leasing contracts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Highly proficient verbal communication and writing skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining good rapport and discretion in communicating with the public, stakeholders, and employees.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Occasional travel (less than 10%)~Washington Metro Area

Required Degree/Certification:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in any of the following disciplines: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.

  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Certification in Contracting is a plus

Required Clearance:

  • DoD Active Secret (or interim)
