Under the supervision of Assigned Management, this position acts to protect the legal, business, and contractual interests of Lifetime Healthcare, Inc. and its subsidiaries, affiliates, and any joint ventures (collectively, the "Corporations"). The incumbent is responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating contracts and managing the contract review process for the Corporations with a focus on client services, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Focuses on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts, including but not limited to contracts for internal stakeholders in procurement, marketing, technology, and human resources
Prepares legal contracts, letters of agreement, and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters such as purchase agreements, etc., to protect the organization's legal and business interests
Supports creation and maintenance of contract templates and fallback language in accordance with changes in the laws, regulations, or corporate policies
Advises and trains internal clients on the Corporations' contracts policies, practices and procedures and support the continuous improvement of the department's contract management system, including the development of new or improved tools to enhance the efficiency of the contracting process
Prepares, organizes, maintains and documents contract performance and compliance for contract records and files
Assists in the management of contract documentation flow, approvals and reporting consistent with internal processes
Provides business clients practical advice and support on contract matters in a fast-paced environment
Identifies and assesses risks of contract terms and conditions and communicate them to stakeholders
Coordinates with other departments to ensure consistency and compliance with contract and other corporate policies and procedures
Regularly reviews and prioritizes workload and maintains a neat and organized workspace
Proactively communicates with internal clients from time to time as necessary or appropriate regarding expectations of the content of work product and timeframes for completion of work
Keeps abreast of developments germane to the job function by participation or attendance at seminars, workshops and professional society meetings, review of publications, and, as necessary or appropriate, independent study, as approved by management

Performs other functions as assigned by management.
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, admission to the New York State Bar and a minimum of two years of business experience in a corporate or law firm environment; will also consider candidates with a master's degree and a minimum of five years of direct experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex supplier/vendor contracts.
Strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions; solid grasp of contracting concepts and strong analytical skills and contract drafting skills
Prior legal experience in the health care and/or health insurance industry is preferred
Superior organizational and prioritization skills and a high level of attention to details.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to work independently and as a team member, as required
Dedicated and motivated self-starter who takes initiative and works through issues in a thorough manner
Responsive and client-service focused
Possesses sound problem-solving and analytical skills
Must possess the ability to review current processes and make improvements.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database programs
