About the team and position

This Contract Recruiter role (90-day Contract to Hire opportunity) within our Operations Talent Acquisition team will have the unique opportunity to build, develop, and execute full life cycle talent acquisition for one of our key operations verticals. This role will support one of the following groups:

Inspection Centers: Our Inspection Centers are the core of our business where every vehicle comes to undergo our rigorous inspection process and is revived back to pristine condition. This is a pivotal part of the Carvana process ensuring that customers are getting a vehicle that not only meets, but exceeds their expectations. As a Recruiter supporting the Inspection Centers, you will be scouring the market to find highly skilled Mechanics and Automotive Painters.

Market Operations: The Market Operations department operates as the face of Carvana. This department is made up of the customer service gurus who deliver vehicles to our customers' residences or cater to them on-site at one of our unique vending machines, and the perfectionists who detail our vehicles so they are ready for delivery. As a Recruiter supporting the customer-centric Market Operations Department, you will be looking for Customer Service Delivery Associates and Vehicle Detailers.

Customer Experience: Customer Experience Advocates are the voice of Carvana and spend the majority of the day on the phone, celebrating with customers, empathizing when things go wrong, resolving complex challenges when they arise, and creating an amazing, unforgettable car-buying experience for our customers.

To support any of these teams, you will develop strong business relationships with your (really awesome) coworkers and, most importantly, you will see your insights have an immediate, tangible impact every day in a rapidly growing company.

Work Location

This role is located in our Tempe, AZ headquarters. We offer a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home/remote. Candidates must be able to commute to our office in Tempe, AZ near Arizona State University.

What you'll be doing as a Contract Recruiter

• You will be responsible for high-volume, full life cycle recruiting for various level candidates; taking candidates from job application to job offer.

• Sourcing candidates through various methods such as Indeed, LinkedIn, job boards, social media, Carvana's website, local community groups, etc., and engaging leads from agency partners.

• Conducting in-depth screening calls and zoom meetings.

• Engaging in a fast-paced, high-volume approach to hiring with constantly changing priorities to meet stakeholder needs.

• Managing the candidate expectations with regards to the background screening process, while working with both candidates and colleagues to ensure we get people processed for a successful hire.

• Working with your key stakeholders to ensure you know what is expected of you, and what the business requires for each area of the business.

• Prepare your business partners for various hiring and field recruitment events, which includes pre-screening candidates.

• Provide input on forming Carvana recruiting best practices (we LOVE some good collaboration!)

• You will help us build a stronger company. Every day.

• Meet or exceed weekly hiring goals and targets, i.e. hire count, offer count, average time between application review to offer stage, and conversion rate from final interview to offer stage.

• Other duties as assigned.

What you should know/have

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

• 3-5 years of recruiting experience.

• Experience using Indeed and LinkedIn recruiter to source qualified candidates.

• Proven ability to source creative, including build partnerships with schools, certification academies, and local community groups.

• You operate with a sense of urgency without sacrificing accuracy. We are fast-paced and need people who can keep up!

• You thrive in an ever-changing environment and always easily adapt.

• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• You have the ability to multitask and prioritize.
