Position Description:

The contract engineer will provide technical support in the development, scale-up and optimization of pharmaceutical process at various phases ranging from R&D to Commercial manufacturing. Specific areas of focus include material processability characterization, 1st and 2nd principle modeling knowledge. The role is expected to have a strong lab presence with the ability to design and execute experiments, interpret the data to improve process understanding. To be successful candidate in this role the candidate needs a good understanding in material characterization and statistical modeling is required. Previous experience in powder characterization and statistical modeling is a pre-requisite.

Preferred Educational Experience:

Bachelors' degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bio-Medical Engineering or related technical disciplines.

Knowledge/ Skills Needed:

  • Background in powder characterization

  • Background in pharmaceutical unit operations

  • Background in computer programming and scripting

  • Demonstrated ability to apply scientific principles to design, execute and interpret experiments.

  • Team player with good interpersonal skills.

  • Good written and oral communication

Preferred Advanced Competencies:

  • Experience with JMP
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Matlab/ Python

Personal Attributes Needed:

  • Motivated self-starter

  • Positive, adaptable, can-do attitude

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours is required

  • Functional ability to work in pilot plant and commercial facilities.
