MWResource helps our customer in the utility industry by providing the resources that they need to support their ongoing projects and maintenance of their systems. We specialize in the control systems and energy markets area.

MWResource is seeking experienced C# ,C++ or Java Developers for a 12+ month contract opportunity working onsite at our customers located in Washington state. The consultant will be responsible for the software development of energy control system applications for power companies (utilities).

Requirements



Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in with C#, Java or C++ software development.
  • Thorough knowledge of data structure, STL containers and algorithms.
  • Knowledge of multi-threading programming.
  • Good understanding of memory management in non-garbage collected environments.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong proficiency in C#,Java and/or, C++.
  • Preferred degree or experience related to power systems (electric transmission and distribution)
  • Preferred experience of containerization, docker and Kubernetes
  • Preferred experience with microservice implementation.
  • Preferred experience with unit, system and performance testing tools and frameworks.

The ability and expertise to communicate clearly in written form as well as verbally. The position includes writing requirements, design, and testing documents that are shared with the customer. A strong programming background in power systems or market applications and an interest in IT systems. At least five years of experience doing EMS or Markets application design and development. At least three years working for, or with, an RTO or ISO on market design, application support, or operations. The candidate will demonstrate an aptitude, interest, and understanding of the whole system in which their prior experience was gained. Experience in Energy Management Systems (EMS) or Wholesale Electricity Market Systems software services Enjoys working on big complex systems that are important to society. You are comfortable and good at debugging complex software that you may not have written in order to determine how it works or why it is not working. Your curiosity does not end at your historical area of expertise, you naturally work to extend your sphere of knowledge of the greater system. You excel in an environment where everything may not be known. You ask good questions to help the team and the customer resolve the unknowns. You are also comfortable saying "I do not know" when that is the case. You enjoy working within a team and you put a high value on interacting with the customer and the team throughout the software lifecycle. Professional programming experience in C++, Java, and/or PL/SQL. You have at least basic SQL skills. Experience in working in software development environments that include the day-to-day use of code management systems such as Git or TFS. You have a willingness and curiosity to take on any task to help the customer and help the team be successful.
