Contract Part-Time Laboratory Technologist - Cancer Genomics

Lighthouse Lab Services is working with a European company that recently opened new laboratory operations in Kannapolis, NC.  We are seeking a contract laboratory technologist with genomic testing experience (cancer markers) to assist this lab 5-10 hours per week. With a flexible schedule to meet your needs and solid hourly pay, picking up some extra hours with us should be well worth your time. 

Lighthouse is proposing a contract for part-time work, with most weeks around 5-6 hours / week of test prep and analysis, and no more than 10 hours weekly.  This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced lab tech to make some extra money while building their resume with an elite lab company. 

Experience:At a minimum, our ideal candidate will meet CLIA and CAP standards for General Supervisor, meaning a minimum of a bachelor's degree and 1 year of high complexity testing experience in molecular pathology. 

However, we will be really keen to speak to you if you also have the following:- Previous experience with CAP general lab and molecular pathology inspection checklists and regulations.  Bonus if you have helped labs follow all checklists for successful inspections.

- Previous / current experience accessioning / testing material for genomic cancer markers required.

- Previous experience with genomic testing for cancer, including breast cancer [referred.

- A positive, can-do attitude and a propensity for "self-management" allowing you to act as the "right hand person" for the off-site Laboratory Director. 

Contract Details

- Part time, flexible schedule, no more than 10 hours per week.

- Initial contract duration of 13 weeks, with future contract offers depending upon performance.

- Pay rate of $35-$40/hour depending upon experience.
