Supervises a parking contract monitoring unit responsible, on a daily basis, for ensuring parking services provided by contractors are in accordance with contract terms.
Positions allocable to this class report to the Contract Manager, Parking Service, ISD and are responsible for supervising parking contract monitors within a specific geographic region of the County. Incumbents must exercise a thorough understanding of supervision and skill in working with public and private sector representatives.
Essential Job Functions
Plans, assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of a parking services contract performance/compliance monitoring unit.
Acts as liaison between the Department, contractor, and other County departments to resolve service complaints.
Prepares and submits weekly assessment reports on parking services provided by contractors and recommends solutions to resolve recurring problems.
Conducts periodic on-site inspections of County parking facilities to assess services provided by contractors.
Participates in the clarification of contract terms which are not clearly defined in the contract agreement.
Supervises County parking lot attendants.
Drives to and from various parking facilities.
Performs other work-related duties, as assigned.
One year of contract monitoring experience at the level of the County of Los Angeles class of Contract Monitor, Parking Services, ISD* -OR- Two years of experience supervising the operation, revenue and access control, maintenance and cleaning of multiple permittee or revenue producing parking lots or a portion of a major revenue producing parking facility.
A valid California Class C Driver License is required to perform job-related essential functions.
Successful applicants for positions that require driving must obtain and present a copy of his/her driving record from the California State Department of Motor Vehicles before final appointment. Applicants should not present a copy of their driving history until asked to do so by the hiring department.
The County will make an individualized assessment of whether an applicant's driving history has a direct or adverse relationship with the specific duties of the job. License must not be currently suspended, restricted, or revoked.
2 - Light. Light physical effort which may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit, and some bending, stooping or squatting. Considerable walking may be involved.

The names of candidates receiving a passing grade in the examination will be placed on the Eligible List in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months following the date of promulgation. Passing this examination and being placed on the Eligible List do not guarantee an offer of employment.
NO PERSON MAY COMPETE FOR THIS EXAMINATION MORE THAN ONCE EVERY TWELVE (12) MONTHS.
The resulting Eligible List for this examination will be used to fill the vacancy located in the Contract Administration Division, Purchasing and Contracts Service of the Internal Services Department located at the Hall of Administration, 500 W. Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
