A Day in the Life
As the Contract Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you Will lead of a team of engineers that are supporting the sustaining activity across MITG Contract Manufacturing facilities. The team will support the activity with Surgical Innovations suppliers, line shutdowns, back order recovery, quality issues and ongoing SCR activity across all business units. The team will work closely with sustaining groups in SI to implement design changes projects and cost reduction initiatives. In addition the team will support corporate projects such has UDI, RoHS etc. and help to implement those with our CMs.
This position leads a team of 3 engineers, with the need to grow the group with current additions to the business from acquisitions.
Manage the engineering team, responsible for production support and support the annual demand in the different BU's.
Coordinate of logistics, procurement, budgets, inventories and standard cost of products in major engineering projects.
Lead transfer to production of sustaining projects and dealing with special requests from OEM customers.
Contribute to the OpEx activities on site, execution of cost reduction, automation and efficiency projects to improve margins using OpEx, lean and 6 sigma methodologies
Support R&D and Sustaining teams in implementation of PDP projects, supplier selection and qualification as needed
Support corporate projects implementation with CMs in meeting new regulatory, costumers and MDT standards
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree with least 5 years' experience in management of engineering teams and/or engineering projects
Nice to Have:
Engineering and Technical background and experience
Proven ability to manage teams and multi-task managing skills
Project and Change Management, proven ability to perform validaitons with suppliers
Experience running global project teams
Customer oriented approach
Excellent interpersonal relationships and cross cultural respect
Good presentation skills to management and collaborators
Six Sigma and Lean Business skills highly desirable.
Ability to travel globally as required.
Demonstrated understanding and application of financial planning and analysis.
Working knowledge of global Quality System requirements and ISO13485 requirments
Demonstrated ability to quickly interpret an extensive variety of technical information and find resolution to an issue quickly.
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead people and projects and to get results through others.
Working knowledge of SOPs, guidance documents and applies a risk based approach to all decisions.
Manages a group of approximately 4 technical engineers.
Interacts cross functionally both internal and external to the group.
Interacts with Office of Project Management, OpEx & Eng, NPD-AME, R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing and Supply Chain amongst others on a daily basis.
