Role Overview

This position is for an Experienced contracts professional with deep knowledge and expertise in contracts administration. Manages multiple contracts for the organization and assists less experienced professionals on protecting business interests. Assists with implementation of improvements to processes to enhance department performance and effectiveness.

This position is for a Senior contracts professional recognized as an expert in contracting. Manages complex contracts and directs work product of less experienced contracts professionals. Implements business strategy in conjunction with legal and regulatory processes. Communicates and influences senior function leaders regarding matters of significant importance. Assists with the improvement of department processes through the application of deep knowledge and experience in the contracts function.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drafts, generates, interprets and manages large, complex contracts in accordance with internal and external customer schedules and requests, to ensure these documents properly reflect business objectives.

  • Independently supports the Program Team to coordinate input during the proposal and contract process.

  • Manages the analysis and preparation of contract documentation to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.

  • Coaches and guides junior professionals and reviews their work to ensure output is of quality and in accordance with business objectives.

  • Leads proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to ensure contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

  • Manages medium- to large-sized contracts.

  • Advises and represents the Program Team on contractual matters.

  • Creates proposals, negotiates and executes contracts.

  • Maintains historical contract records.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Business Administration or Juris Doctorate
