  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.

  • The Contract Manager is responsible for processing all contractual relationships of the organization and for administering the electronic system of contract management. This position is responsible for the following: Timely monitoring of new and existing contracts. Working collaboratively with and providing appropriate technical assistance to internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams across the organization to ensure that standards and deadlines are met in executing, monitoring and reviewing contracts. Proactively assisting all internal stakeholders in understanding and managing the organization's contracting process. Assisting, at the direction of the General Counsel or Assistant General Counsel, with operational matters related to any other matter that may be the responsibility of the Office of Legal Affairs Department.

  • Qualifications

  • Education

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree

  • Licensure/Certification

  • Required: Paralegal Certification from an ABA accredited program or equivalent experience in a corporate in-house law department or law firm.

  • Experience

  • Preferred: One (1) year of experience as a corporate paralegal, contracts administrator, in-house legal operations manager or law firm contract manager.

  • Preferred: Experience in reviewing and approving contracts in a healthcare setting, and managing an electronic contract management system.

  • Essential Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.

  • Develop and implement efficient processes for managing physical and electronic contracts.

  • Implements, maintains and administers an electronic contractual approval process.

  • Maintains contract files, using a standard process to ensure consistency and ease of management.

  • Manages and maintains electronic contract management system.

  • Ensures adequate processes are in place to avoid contract compliance issues and escalates any contracts compliance issues to department attorneys.

  • Monitors and implements contracts in support of management.

  • Monitors new contract requests for adherence to contract review policy, contract review processes, and signing authority set by the organization.

  • Drafts contractual agreements as needed, under the direction and supervision of Assistant General Counsel or another attorney.

  • Researches contractual questions and issues as necessary and/or as directed.

  • Obtains approvals for execution of contracts.

  • Monitors new and amended contracts to ensure a fully executed copy is provided to the Office of Legal Affairs in a timely manner.

  • Monitors existing contracts to ensure timely renewals.

  • Coordinates with contract owners regarding contract status and necessary updates, including termination date and required amendments.

  • Works with Quality to ensure proper documentation is received for Contracts that are subject to Joint Commission Quality Standards.

  • Interprets policies and implements practices related to contract approval, monitoring and implementation.

  • Ensures accurate data entry into contract database.

  • Regularly reports to Assistant General Counsel and other Office of Legal Affairs staff (as necessary) on contract database metrics.

  • Assist client (at all levels) with contract and contract system questions.

  • Assist attorneys and other department personnel as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
