Office Based in Hartford, CT
Aetna's legal team has an exciting opening for a Contract Lead position. This role will deliver outstanding quality service to customers through creative problem-solving and with a consultancy mindset. Provide expertise in the areas of contracts, negotiations, and project management. Drive compliance with Aetnas internal and external obligations.
Negotiates contracts with customer in accordance with Aetnas standards.
Leads assigned contract projects by creating timelines, building contingency plans, executing corrective actions, communicating issues resolution, and identifying and utilizing key milestones, stakeholders, and resources needed to ensure timely and successful contract negotiations.
Manages contract risks and issues and communications of such risks and issues to stakeholders.
Ensures completion of projects and goals within identified service levels and timeframes.
Implements process improvement solutions that strengthen accountability and promote effective risk management.
Develops, utilizes, and contributes to all contract team tools, such as alternative solutions to effectively manage job responsibilities and disseminate information regarding contractual rights, responsibilities, and obligations to sourcing and business areas.
As required, verifies contract compliance and adherence to Aetnas policies and procedures.
Communicates effectively with Senior Management, internal constituents and customers to maintain working relationships.
Applies knowledge of contractual terms and conditions.
Demonstrated negotiation skills.
Conflict management and problem solving skills.
Proven track record as leader and team player.
Experience leading projects and teams.
Track record of implementing positive improvements and execution.
Experience managing diverse assignments and multiple priorities.
Experience demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to form strong client relationships.
Must be adaptable to a dynamic work environment and take on added responsibilities as needed meet the teams needs which fundamentally support an efficient multi-faceted approach to contract creation, management and negotiation.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
